We are seeking a compassionate Facilities Manager to join our team. The Facilities Manager is a hands on, working manager position who is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and ongoing care of our 23 group homes and 6 office locations within the Twin Cities metro area. This role requires a working knowledge of building/home maintenance systems. The ideal candidate would be a self-starter with a strong work ethic, solid troubleshooting skills, and the ability to manage tasks independently.”

Annually, we deliver a wide variety of services to more than 10,000 individuals of all needs, abilities, and ages - from infants to elders. Our services include waiver case management, community living services, care coordination, respite care, and community-based residential programs.
FTE: 1.0 (40 hours per week)
- Hires and trains maintenance department staff.
- Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of maintenance staff.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department.
- Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
- Assesses ticketing systems to plan work assignments and project schedules.
- Develop maintenance procedures and schedules.
- Assist and manage various moves within the organization.
- Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Manage budgets and negotiate contracts with service providers.
- Responsible for the continuous care and maintenance of all company owned vehicles, managing insurance claims, coordinating vehicle repair and overseeing inspections.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Work with the VP of Operations to develop and implement a comprehensive facilities strategy aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
- Perform on-site visits to program sites and assist with licensing requirements.
- Respond to emergencies and urgent issues promptly.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
- Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- Excellent management and supervisory skills.
- Background clearance for licensing agencies.
- Valid Driver’s License. Must have and maintain a clean driving record.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Proven experience as a Facilities Manager or similar role
- Degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (or 5+ years’ experience)
- Relevant certifications (e.g., IFMA, BIFM) are a plus.
- Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance.
- Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to perform tasks requires bending at the waist, twisting, lifting and carrying loads up to 50 pounds.
