Your Opportunity

Our Dynamic New York City Civil team is looking for a Co-op intern for the 2026 Spring Semester.

Your Key Responsibilities 

  • Assist engineers in the preparation of contract documents and reports for a variety of civil engineering projects ranging from roadways, parks, recreational space, waterfront, ADA accessibility, and transit facilities. 
  • Responsibilities include computer aided design and drafting, checking drawings and calculations, quantity take-offs, simple design calculations, and field inspections.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Minimum requirements include prior exposure to CAD Design programs (AutoCAD/MicroStation).
  • Currently enrolled and in good academic standing in accredited engineering school. 
  • Past experience with Civil 3D and/or Bentley Inroads/OpenRoads Designer is preferred. 
  • This opportunity is primarily open to candidates enrolled in colleges & universities with co-op programs as the position requires a 40hr/week commitment.

Education and Experience 

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters Civil Engineering Program.

Additional Information

Typical office environment involves working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Spring Co-op Interns are expected to work 40hrs/week minimum in the office.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
