POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists the F&B Manager to manage the cafeteria and other food and beverage operations and activities to ensure effective and profitable operation. Coordinates the activities of this department and its staff to achieve customer satisfaction, quality service and compliance with established procedures/policies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Ensures that the highest level of guest service is provided at all times.
· Maintains an open line of communication with F&B Manager and staff to inform of departmental operations.
· Assists with food and beverage quality, presentation, and pricing.
· Works with F&B Manager and staff to plan menus and pricing, prepares standard recipes and develops menu preparation and implementation.
· Ensures that all materials/equipment required for service are in place, in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by establishing and following preventative maintenance programs, and corrects any deficiencies.
· Develop strong working relations with distributors.
· Assists staff with job functions as needed to ensure optimum service to all guests.
· Maintains visibility and accessibility to guests, staff, and vendors; maintains effective communication with all staff to ensure department is performing at established standards.
· Ensures that guest’s needs are fulfilled and their experience is as pleasurable as possible; responds to guest feedback, including complaints/problems.
· Monitors overall condition of food and beverage operations and outlets, and ensures that deficiencies are corrected.
· Works with department and outlet staff to establish par levels for supplies and equipment; monitors and maintains proper inventory levels; submits purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
· Assists with inventory of food, beverage, alcohol, and paper goods supplies on last day of month and delivers to Accounting Department no later than 6 days following end of month.
· Maintains food and beverage history including but not limited to sales mix and history, actual/potential costs and production time.
· Possesses and maintains a thorough understanding of industry and stays abreast of industry trends; communicates/incorporates information to assure department remains current.
· Ensures all kitchen, food and beverage operations are in compliance with all legislated health and licensing guidelines; ensures adherence to all health and safety regulations and procedures, provide safety training and weekly 5-minute safety meetings.
· Ensures all areas are locked and secured prior to leaving establishment.
· Adheres to MSDS policies applicable to the department.
· Helps develop and implements and monitors department budget; manages expenses within approved budget constraints.
· Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of all menu items, preparation method/time, and helps train and develop staff.
