The Market Manager (Commercial Focus) is responsible for all aspects of the commercial business for given market areas. This includes identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, developing and maintaining strong customer partnerships, and achieving sales targets. With profitable growth as the main objective, it is critical the successful candidate is well versed in developing and executing commercial strategies. The Market Manager (Commercial Focus) will work collaboratively with other areas of the business to ensure the delivery of our Wholesale value proposition – “The right glass, safely delivered without fail, on time and in perfect condition.” as well as our operational efficiency objectives. Areas covered in this role include Buffalo, Syracuse, and New York State, position based in Buffalo New York. To accomplish this, they:
Essential Functions:
- Re-enforce a safety-first mindset and ensure regulatory safety compliance.
- Ensure full delivery routes and maximized Will Call volumes by collaborating with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction, successful value proposition delivery, and all operational efficiency / critical process objectives.
- Thoroughly understanding the features, benefits, and applications of the company's products or services to effectively answer customer questions & create solutions.
- Drive initiatives and a culture that delivers service quality, Employee engagement, Sales volume.
- Managing the entire sales process from initial contact through negotiation and closing deals, ensuring timely follow-up.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and market research.
- Building and maintaining relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs, and providing ongoing support.
- Prepare and deliver sales reports, forecasts, and presentations to management.
- Adherence to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and Principles
- Other duties as assigned by the Regional General Manager / Commercial Director.
Qualifications Required:
- 2+ years outside business-to-business commercial experience required.
Qualifications Desired:
- Previous glass industry or wholesale industry experience required.
Other Requirements:
- Strong leadership interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- This position could require travel up to 30% of the time based on business need including overnight travel.
- Must have valid driver’s license.
- Must have and maintain acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) as defined by safety requirements
- Microsoft Office Proficiency
Salary Range: $83,000 - $104,000 or based on experience
