The Assistant Manager of the Suicide Prevention Center will play a key leadership role in the design, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the Suicide Prevention Center’s core programs and will lead implementation of the Jordan Porco Foundation’s programs. This individual will oversee multiple initiatives aimed at suicide prevention, mental health awareness, and support services for college students. The assistant manager will be a strategic thinker and collaborative leader with a strong background in program management, mental health, or youth-focused initiatives.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of all suicide prevention programs and initiatives-20%
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness using data-driven approaches; adjust programming as needed based on outcomes-20%
  • Supervise and support program staff, interns, and volunteers involved in program delivery-10%
  • Cultivate partnerships with colleges, mental health organizations, student groups, and community stakeholders-20%
  • Collaborate with development and fundraising teams to secure grants and donations that support program sustainability and growth.  Identify new opportunities for program expansion and innovation-5%
  • Promote mental health awareness through workshops, webinars, campaigns, and events on college campuses and online platforms-5%
  • Ensure programs comply with all relevant policies, ethical standards, and grant requirements-5%   
  • Prepare and present regular reports on program outcomes, challenges, and success stories to IPC, OCCH, and JPF leadership-5%
  • Ensure alignment of program objectives with the organization’s mission and strategic goals-5%
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.    
     

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience Required:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in public health, Social Work, Psychology, Education or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of project management experience in community programs, preferably in mental health.

Education and/or Experience Preferred:

  • Education:  Master’s Degree in Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, Education or related field.

License and/or Certification Required:

  • Valid Driver’s License.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge

  • Mental health and injury prevention science and its application.
  • Community outreach and what that entails.
  • CRM and Canva.

Skills

  • Problem solving and follow-up.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to easily convey information.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Project management
  • MS Office software.
  • Writing reports.

Abilities

  • Work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Build and maintain relationships within the organization and community.
