Senior Development Manager, Real Estate

The Senior Development Manager, Real Estate is responsible for managing and mentoring a team of Real Estate Specialists, while also overseeing real estate programs for key clients. This role drives strategy, process optimization, and execution of new and relocation projects from conception through construction commencement. By bridging legal, asset management, construction, and client-facing functions, the Senior Development Manager, Real Estate ensures seamless execution of real estate transactions and development programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end real estate development process for multi-market clients, from transaction execution through construction start, including leases, purchase agreements, title and survey reviews, and closing packages.
  • Oversee due diligence reviews including site plans, surveys, utilities, easements, jurisdictional requirements, and variance approvals.
  • Direct the creation and modification of standardized processes, checklists, and workflows for Real Estate Specialists.
  • Manage asset management responsibilities and Smartsheet program tracking for assigned clients.
  • Provide legal support by collaborating with Sevan�s internal Legal team and external counsel on lease administration, easements, amendments, and other contractual matters.
  • Act as subject matter expert for real estate project tracking, contingency timelines, and accountability across client programs.
  • Serve as a primary liaison with landlords, sellers, declarants, municipal authorities, and external vendors to monitor and secure deliverables.
  • Create and deliver customized project dashboards, trackers, and executive-level status reports for internal leaders and client stakeholders.
  • Optimize internal processes through strategy and planning meetings, ensuring consistency across programs and departments.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Real Estate Specialists, including recruitment, training, coaching, and retention.
  • Provide consistent feedback and set professional goals, creating individualized career development plans to support staff growth.
  • Balance and prioritize team workload, ensuring quality and timeliness of deliverables across clients and markets.
  • Establish and enforce quality-control standards for real estate development work products.
  • Foster collaboration across Real Estate Development Services, Construction, Legal, and Business Development teams.
  • Partner with leadership and clients to form prioritization strategies and monitor progression of projects.
  • Support Sevan�s Business Development team in pursuing and onboarding new clients requiring real estate and project management services.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, process improvements, and continuous innovation across Sevan�s Real Estate Development Services line.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor�s degree in an accredited Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or related program, or equivalent.
  • 8�12 years of experience in commercial real estate development, transaction management, or construction-related project management.
  • Demonstrated success in managing multi-market, high-volume development programs.
  • Strong knowledge of zoning, permitting, lease negotiation, title/survey processes, and real estate law fundamentals.
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and client-service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet, and document management systems.
  • Restaurant, retail, or multi-site development program management strongly preferred.
  • Exposure to client-facing roles and business development activities.
  • Familiarity with Sevan�s core sectors: Program Management, A&E, Construction, and Reality Capture/BIM.
  • PMP and/or Paralegal certification preferred.

Work Conditions:

This is a remote-based role with recurring travel to project locations. A highly collaborative environment that flourishes when individual and team contributions combine to achieve target goals and objectives. Multi-shift work may be required to accomplish work in active retail locations to meet aggressive schedules. Able to work remotely in a home office setting and manage time effectively with multiple projects and deadlines. Travel required (10-20%) on an as needed basis up to and including weekly site visits. Regularly required to sit; occasionally required to stand; walk; occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

Pay & Benefits:

The anticipated compensation range for the position is $120,000 - $140,000, is based on a full-time schedule, market and business conditions, and is commensurate on individual education, qualifications, and experience.
