We are seeking a proactive and articulate Transfer In Team Leader to join our Chelmsford office. This is a key supervisory role within our Transfers department, responsible for overseeing the smooth migration of client assets to Charles Stanley from external brokers, custodians, and own-name holdings. You’ll play a hands-on role in daily operations, ensuring service excellence and regulatory compliance, while supporting the wider team and department objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate day-to-day processing across all account types, including tax-wrapped and taxable trading accounts
  • Manage team workflow and ensure all tasks are completed within agreed SLAs
  • Handle client and internal queries and complaints, escalating where necessary
  • Support the development and implementation of departmental procedures
  • Ensure all processes comply with FCA regulations and internal policies
  • Maintain and monitor regulatory checks in line with CASS and AML requirements
  • Deputise for the Transfer In Manager when required, including:
    • Chairing internal and external meetings
    • Representing the department at branch manager meetings and evening presentations
    • Assisting with staff appraisals, feedback, and objective setting
    • Preparing and presenting departmental statistics to the Head of Operations

About You
We’re looking for someone with strong leadership skills, excellent attention to detail, and a solid understanding of stockbroking operations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A-levels or equivalent as a minimum
  • ACSI/IOC qualification preferred, or willingness to study towards it
  • Experience in project management and staff coaching is desirable
  • Strong background in custodial operations within a stockbroking environment
  • Experience with stock migration and tax-wrapped products is advantageous

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
  • Flexible and resilient under pressure, particularly during peak periods
  • Strong multitasking and prioritisation skills
  • Sound knowledge of CASS rules and anti-money laundering regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general IT systems
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
