Purpose of the function
As the Oncology Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing plans to drive the successful launch, growth, and commercialization of our oncology brand(s). Your primary focus will be understanding the needs and challenges of healthcare professionals, patients, and other key stakeholders in the oncology space. You will collaborate cross-functionally with various teams, including medical, access, sales, and business insights, as well as our alliance partners to ensure seamless integration of marketing initiatives into the overall business strategy.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Develop and Implement Marketing Strategies:
• Create comprehensive marketing plans that align with the overall brand strategy and/or our alliance brand strategy, considering market dynamics, competitive landscape, and customer insights.
• Define target market segments, positioning, and messaging for our oncology portfolio, incorporating precision medicine and biomarker-driven approaches where applicable.
• Collaborate with the medical team to ensure scientific data is effectively translated into promotional materials, educational resources, and field campaigns.
2. Launch and Lifecycle Management:
• Lead the successful launch of new oncology products, overseeing all pre-launch activities, market preparation, and post launch follow-ups, including tracking key performance indications (KPIs) for adoption and impact.
• Monitor product performance throughout its lifecycle and identify opportunities for growth, repositioning, or enhancements, using data analytics to inform decisions.
3. Market Research and Analysis:
• Work with our Business Insights Manager to conduct market research, gaining insights into customers’ needs, preferences, behaviours, and translate these into actionable strategies.
• Utilize market research to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and potential opportunities in the oncology space.
• Analyze sales data, market share, and ROI to optimize marketing efforts and forecast future performance.
4. Cross Functional Collaboration:
• Coordinate the launch readiness process, including tool development, implementation, training, and support of the cross-functional team and our alliance partners.
• Design, develop, and maintain launch readiness dashboards, and be responsible for aligning the cross-functional team on launch readiness KPIs to inform brand planning and performance execution.
• Ensure full alignment of all relevant stakeholders across DS, alliance counterparts, and external partners on defined milestones and deliverables.
• Connect with regional and global teams to share and cascade guidance, best practices, and lessons learned from marketing campaigns.
5. KOL and Stakeholder Engagement:
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and patient advocacy groups to gain their support and endorsement of our oncology brands.
• Organize advisory boards, speaker programs, and peer-to-peer initiatives to foster thought leadership and gather real-world feedback.

6. Budget Management:
• Manage the marketing budget effectively, ensuring resource allocation aligns with strategic priorities and delivers measurable results.
• Oversee annual brand and budget planning cycles, including forecasting, variance analysis, and optimization for maximum ROI.
7. Compliance and Regulatory:
• Manage the internal legal, compliance, and medical review and approval of new materials.
• Ensure all marketing activities and materials comply with local regulations, guidelines, company, and alliance policies, maintaining the highest standards of ethical promotion.
8. Digital Marketing and Multichannel Strategies:
• Stay up to date with the latest digital marketing trends and incorporate innovative multichannel strategies (e.g., AI-driven personalization and omnichannel engagement) to reach target audiences effectively.
• Create customer engagement platforms and initiatives to drive product preference and usage via non-traditional sales and marketing tactics, such as virtual events and content hubs.
• Develop multi-channel push and pull strategies to increase value add programs and achieve objective for new launches.
• Oversee the development of digital marketing campaigns, including social media, email marketing, online advertising, and stakeholder-facing digital tools.
9. Key Conference and Event participation:
• Represent the company at industry conferences, symposiums and, key events to enhance corporate and brand visibility, and networking opportunities.
• Plan and execute conference activities and sponsorships to maximize external engagement.
Education & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Life Sciences, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in pharmaceutical marketing in oncology or a related therapeutic area (e.g., hematology or precision medicine).
• Proven track record in product launches, brand management, and cross-functional leadership in a regulated environment.
• Solid understanding of the oncology treatment landscape, including key competitors and market trends, particularly in areas of breast, lung and hematological cancers.
• Ability to communicate, collaborate effectively and push things through / across a matrix organization.
• Strong accountability with demonstrated ability to work in teams, ideally in a cross-functional environment, as well as autonomously without constant monitoring.
• Excellent project management capabilities and presentation skills.
• Innovation mindset & hands-on mentality.
• Analytical mindset and data-driven problem solver with the initiative to pro-actively identify improvement opportunities.
Skills and additional Requirements
- Flexible to changing priorities in a fast moving environment with little structure.
- A passion for improving patient outcomes and making a difference in oncology care.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools, data analytics platforms and CRM systems.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in pharmaceutical marketing.
- Ability to build relationships with KOL's, healthcare professionals and patient advocacy groups.
