This position is responsible for the purchase of Direct Materials within the regional PL organization. The role will manage assigned category under "Packaging" Segment. The role provides functional support of other tandem categories (e.g. General Services, Surfactants, Tolling Services) including assisting other Strategic Procurement Managers on developing and execution of category strategies by facilitating continuous improvement. Individual to support developing, negotiating, and administering contracts for assigned categories such packaging and may require travel to Wacker sites to facilitate. The role will manage the successful partnership between Wacker's internal customers and external key suppliers to achieve the best total cost of ownership through the use of appropriate tools and systems (e.g., ARIBA tenders, eAuctions, etc.). The role will support and facilitate the coordination with other departments with the timely procurement and delivery of key materials and services, lead timely preparation for Procurement Monthly Reports, KPI's, forecasts, audits, supplier complaints/claims/evaluations and other reporting as necessary.
Essential Functions of this Position
- Support the execution of business tenders (e.g., RFQs, RFIs, e-Auctions)
- Support joint meetings with stakeholders, to review requirements, specifications, new or existing sources of supply, forecasts, recommendations for reduced procurement spend
- Assist in the development and implementation of negotiation strategies that satisfy the objectives of Wacker Sites
- Help negotiate and drafts contracts including contract amendments.
- Support the research and understanding of dynamic market conditions, supplier performance and economic forecasts.
- Keep Business informed regarding economic conditions, market conditions, lead times and shifts in pricing patterns.
- Performs tactical tasks in SAP
- Assist in the preparation of key strategies, and cost reduction initiatives and presents them to stakeholders
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- 3+ years (preferred) or Previous Wacker Experience including recent internship will be considered
- Knowledge of Packaging (e.g., totes, steel drums) with interfaces to Supply Chain, Warehousing, and Logistical functions.
- Strong analytical mindset to understand and develop a total cost structure which require research of markets and development of financial models.
- Excellent written and verbal skills; ability to communicate with all levels of management internally and external to WACKER.
- Good understanding of negotiation strategies, and risk management.
- Basic negotiation skills: ability to read, understand legally binding contracts
- Ability to work within a global matrix organization and independently
- Previous Project Management experience is desirable.
- Previous experience in procuring contractor for site service management including equipment and equipment installation including direct raw materials is preferred.
- Proficiency with SAP & Microsoft Office applications and the ability learn additional IT analytical programs
