THE POSITION
Security Planning & Coordination
• Develop and execute a comprehensive security plan for the IBC in coordination with FIFA Security, local law enforcement, and private security providers.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for physical, cyber, and operational threats.
Access Control & Credentialing
• Manage access control systems and credentialing processes for all IBC personnel, including broadcasters, vendors, and staff.
• Monitor entry/exit points and ensure compliance with accreditation policies.
Incident Management
• Lead response efforts for security incidents, emergencies, or breaches.
• Maintain incident logs and coordinate with emergency services when necessary.
Team Leadership
• Communicate and collaborate with the Head of Personnel & Facilities Safety & Security.
• Supervise on-site operations and security personnel and ensure proper deployment, including vendor management (audit, accruals, etc.).
• Communicate any issues with on-site private security supervisors.
• Conduct briefings and drills to prepare staff for various scenarios.
Technology & Surveillance
• Oversee the installation and operation of CCTV, alarm systems, and other surveillance or fire suppression technologies.
• Monitor walkthrough magnetometers and X-Ray machines for security screening.
• Ensure cybersecurity protocols are followed in collaboration with IT teams.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Act as the main point of contact for safety and security matters for the IBC venue manager and other IBC functional areas
• Liaise with FIFA World Cup 26™, host city officials, broadcasters, and other stakeholders to align security operations with event requirements.
• Provide regular updates and reports to senior management.
• Liaise with local, state and federal emergency responders.
YOUR PROFILE
• 10 + years with a background in law enforcement, military, or private security preferred.
• Demonstrated experience being independent, self-starter, able to make decisions independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrated experience in executing crisis management and emergency response plans is a plus.
• Proven experience in managing security operations for large-scale events or facilities.
• Strong understanding of access control systems, surveillance technologies, and emergency response protocols.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic, high-profile environment.
• Experience working in multicultural environments.
• Demonstrated knowledge of access control systems, surveillance technologies, and other security-related technologies, a plus.
• Prepare reports on the status of Safety and Security operations for the offices and offer recommendations to the Head of Personnel and Facilities Security as required.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Additional languages are an asset (Spanish, in particular).
• Proficient in MS Teams, online collaboration and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and tools.
• Proficient in Open-Source Intelligence Tools, patron screening technology, biometric identity solutions, enterprise access control technology, and video analytics systems.
