The YMCA of Central Florida is seeking a Payroll Admin with an attention to detail to process payroll for a mission driven organization.
Position Summary
The Payroll Administrator coordinates all payroll related processes and continuous improvement project initiatives. The Payroll Administrator will effectively plan, schedule, and process payroll and will communicate payroll best practices and procedures.

Job Responsibilities
- Process full cycle payroll for the employees of the YMCA of Central Florida and its subsidiaries with multiple locations. Analyze and audit for accuracy.
- Analyze payroll and employee data to ensure data integrity. Create biweekly and monthly reports in support of Family Center operations and the Shared Services department. Develop and produce reports and queries for ad-hoc and other payroll reporting needs as determined.
- Administer bi-weekly general ledger uploads and ensure general ledger accuracy. Calculate payroll accruals and make required reconciling journal entries. Lead audit reconciliation of assigned payroll liability accounts to ensure data integrity in preparation of external audits.
- Communicate actively with Operations, HR and Finance to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing. Ensure satisfaction and timely resolution to inquiries.
- Consult with management and employees on the interpretation and administration of payroll policies, procedures and programs. Recommend and institute changes to policies and procedures as needed to support business objectives.
- Calculate, complete and audit all quarterly and annual payroll taxes. Process W2 & W2c’s as needed.
- Complete project management assignments and perform internal audit work for the Payroll Manager as identified.
- Processing of employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with the company’s employee reimbursement policy.
- Promote and represent the mission and core values of the YMCA of Central Florida in the Association.
- All other duties assigned by Management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; business, accounting or related field of study preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in payroll administration of 1500+ employees at multiple locations required.
- Experience working with time and attendance and HRMS systems a plus.
- Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office, required.
- Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office, required; Netsuite experience a plus.
- Must be willing to regularly work flexible hours, weekends and holidays.
- Must be willing to travel extensively within Central Florida. Must have valid Florida driver license.
- Demonstrated knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to payroll, employment, and general business practices.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with a proven ability to interface with employees at all levels.
- Excellent planning and organizing skills; ability to anticipate outcomes.
- Strong analytical, problem solving skills.
- Ability to treat confidential information with sensitivity.
- Must exhibit a high degree of discretion and independent judgment.
- Ability to multi-process in a rapidly changing environment
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, which may include weekends and holidays as needed.
- Must be willing to work an on-call schedule rotation as required.
- Must be willing to travel within Central Florida. Must have a valid Driver license. The employee is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- The physical activities of this position include: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motions. Talking is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels, with or without correction.
- Required to sit or stand for extended periods of time while demonstrating manual dexterity in order to accurately work on the phone, computer keyboard, and other equipment.
- The employee must be able to perform light work: exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
- The employee is required to have close visual acuity, along with the visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned, preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer screen, extensive reading, or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
- Must possess auditory and verbal capabilities in order to adequately communicate via phone and in person.
- The employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
