Job Summary

The Fiberglass Finisher is responsible sanding, repairing, and finishing fiberglass parts to meet quality and cosmetic standards. This role ensures that boat parts are production-ready with smooth, defect-free surfaces. This role will be on rotation between our Big Lake, MN location and our Wyoming, MN location. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Sand, buff, and polish fiberglass parts to required finish.
  • Fill and repair surface defects, cracks, or imperfections.
  • Apply gelcoat, resin, or fillers as needed for cosmetic touch-ups.
  • Inspect finished parts for compliance with quality standards.
  • Maintain clean and organized finishing area and equipment.
  • Work with production and quality teams to correct defects and meet deadlines.
  • Follow all safety protocols when working with fiberglass dust and chemicals. 
  • Trim excess fiberglass and resin using saws, grinders, and other tools.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in fiberglass finishing, bodywork, or auto/boat repair preferred.
  • Ability to use grinders, sanders, and finishing tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong attention to cosmetic detail and surface quality.
  • Ability to follow work instructions and meet production schedules.
  • Comfortable wearing PPE and working in dusty environments.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.


Physical Requirements

  • Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work. 
  • Must be able to see details at close range. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to read work instructions and drawings.
  • Must be able to work at a fast pace.
  • Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by lifting, walking, bending, twisting and carrying materials.
  • Must be willing to be on rotation between our Big Lake, MN location and our Wyoming, MN location.
