Job Title: Human Resources Manager
Reports To: CEO
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary: The HR Manager is responsible for working with leaders across the organization to identify, engage, develop and retain talent by effectively handling employee relations, performance management, project management, succession planning and development. As a 1-person HR Department candidates must possess a broad skillset encompassing strategic planning, recruitment, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, and performance management, with a heavy emphasis on self-sufficiency and tactical execution to manage all HR functions of the organization. The role demands expertise in labor laws, HR systems, developing policies, and aligning human capital with business objectives, while also requiring strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities to serve as primary HR resource.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Partner with the organization to identify, develop and drive key talent management initiatives such as leadership development, talent/performance management, change management, workforce and succession planning and coaching (employee and manager).
- Coach, counsel, and guide managers on all employee related issues; conduct investigations, and recommend the course of action best to best balance the needs of stakeholders in a legally compliant manner.
- Work with Managers to implement employee training and development, manage its delivery and ensure career development. Follows-up to ensure training objectives are met.
- Manage and drive projects as determined in the HR planning process and participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives; provide best practice guidance and influence when appropriate to drive outcomes.
- Prepare, recommend, and maintain records and procedures for employee transactions and reporting data.
- Engages in strategic and goal planning processes in order to align HR strategies with the achievement of successful business outcomes
- Partners with business leaders to create and implement comprehensive people plans aimed at creating a culture that drives accountability, problem-solving, continuous improvement and learning
- Facilitates the implementation of change management initiatives and partners with business leaders to effectively communicate strategies, goals, values and performance expectations to leaders and employees.
- Works closely with the CEO to properly align the strategic business plan objectives with HR long range planning goals for the organization.
- Sets annual objectives for HR that aligns with business goals, and fosters strong communications focused on continually improving the overall culture of the organization.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance, partnering with the legal as needed/required.
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention.
- Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation, and creates local site-specific policy when required.
- Leads an effective recruiting and selection process, and ensures on-boarding requirements are adequate, effective, implemented and executed properly.
- Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
- Follow and comply with all safety policies.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS

Education/ and or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field; or an equivalent of education and experience, MBA a plus.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a Human Resources role resolving complex, employee relations issues.
- Experience with leading the Human Resource function in a multi-site environment, preferably in Healthcare.
Specialized Knowledge Required – Including any required certificates, licenses, and registrations
- PHR/ SPHR preferred.
- Working knowledge of all major human resource disciplines.
- Previous Supervisory Experience.
- Must be able to multi-task and have an attention to detail.
- Must demonstrate strong organization and project management skills.
- Must have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven success in employee development and succession planning.
- Knowledge/ Experience with HRIS Software.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Great attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
