Who are we looking for?

GHD's Southeast Environmental group has an opportunity for an Environmental Project Manager in Tampa, FL! This position is an integral part of our environmental services group and requires a diverse array of skills and abilities to provide technical management of environmental assessment, remediation, compliance, or due diligence projects, to support the growth of the practice, and to accomplish the objectives of the team. 

In this role, you will be tasked with supporting and managing GHD’s existing environmental projects in Florida and surrounding states in the southeast. This role will require a strong technical background in environmental assessment, remediation, compliance, and/or due diligence.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently.
  • Engineering Solutions Design: Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in the workplace. Identify patterns of risky behavior within the team and take appropriate action to resolve them, escalating serious issues as appropriate.
  • Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
  • Research: Carry out a range of research activities either to support others or to fulfill the requirements of the role.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Support technical troubleshooting efforts, aiding in the quick and accurate identification, analysis, and resolution of technical issues with equipment and experiments.
  • Project Management: Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.
  • Client & Customer Management: Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Geoscience
  • Experience in project management of environmental projects from investigation to remediation
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and swiftly adapt to changing client needs
  • Experience in identifying existing client growth potential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective client presentations and written report preparation including presenting technical information in a concise and professional manner.
