Job Summary:

The Distribution Senior Analyst plays a pivotal cross-functional role in optimizing supply chain operations, supporting customer marketing initiatives, and enhancing financial performance. This position requires strong analytical skills, business acumen, and collaboration across supply chain, finance, and commercial teams. Key responsibilities include monitoring inventory and distribution network performance, managing vendor-managed inventory (VMI) programs, analyzing distribution-related costs, and developing actionable insights through data analysis and reporting. The role contributes directly to operational efficiency, cost control, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Operations & Supply Chain:

  • Monitor and optimize distribution network performance, including inventory levels, order fulfillment, and transportation efficiency.
  • Analyze supply chain data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support demand planning and replenishment strategies to ensure product availability and minimize excess inventory.

Customer Marketing Integration:

  • Collaborate with customer marketing teams to align distribution plans with promotional activities, product launches, and seasonal programs.
  • Provide insights on inventory positioning and distribution timing to support marketing execution.
  • Track and report on the impact of marketing programs on inventory and sales performance.

Finance & P&L Support:

  • Partner with Finance to analyze distribution-related costs and their impact on gross margin and P&L.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes for distribution expenses.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through process improvements, vendor negotiations, and inventory optimization.

Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI):

  • Manage VMI programs with key distributors and retail partners, ensuring accurate forecasting, replenishment, and performance tracking.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external partners to ensure alignment on inventory targets and service levels.
  • Monitor VMI KPIs such as stock-outs, inventory turns, and forecast accuracy.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track distribution KPIs, financial metrics, and inventory health.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on supply chain disruptions and recommend corrective actions.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

Travel Requirements

  • Travel could be up to 15% of the time. 

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced skills in the use of Excel and PowerPoint. 
  • 5-7 years of experience in distribution, supply chain analytics, or commercial operations.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and VMI platforms.
  • Solid understanding of financial principles and P&L management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities across functions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

Work Environment:

  • Normal office environment
  • Sedentary to light physical effort necessary to perform the job
  • Extensive contact with employees and external business partners and vendors
  • Prolonged sitting in front of a computer

Experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience in distribution, supply chain analytics, or commercial operations.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field.

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between $93,000.00 and $123,300.00 per year and may include cost of living adjustments.  The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future.  This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits.
