Overview:
GitHub is growing its Sales Business Development team and seeks experienced professionals to elevate our sales efforts. As a Sales Development Representative, you will qualify customer inquiries and design account strategies to meet business objectives. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to influence customer engagement strategies, learn from industry-leading sales practices, and contribute to shaping the approaches of our sales operations in a rapidly evolving market.
Responsibilities:Qualify inbound prospective customer inquiries by conducting assessments of current needs and delivering the correct value proposition to identify appropriate parties for partnership or sales.
Execute and contribute to the design of partner/customer account strategies to achieve strategic business objectives and enhance customer engagement.
Increase customer awareness of key contacts and GitHub's value proposition to drive purchasing decisions, while orchestrating sales or partnership pursuits with customers and partners.
Participate in discussions with customers and partners to align on and determine their needs and desired outcomes for successful customer engagements.
Interpret product usage reporting to inform prospecting strategies and leverage internal sales metrics to self-govern activities and achieve individual quotas.
Contribute to continuous process improvements and in-flight changes by reviewing and analyzing performance for specific strategic plans and sharing best practices internally.
Leverage domain and industry knowledge to develop creative and innovative solutions that improve workflow and results for Sales Business Development stakeholders.
Engage with marketing, product, and customer success teams to ensure alignment on messaging, product updates, and customer feedback, enhancing the overall customer experience and driving sales success.
Utilize CRM and sales enablement tools effectively to track customer interactions, manage sales pipelines, and optimize sales processes, ensuring data accuracy and efficiency in sales operations.
Required Qualifications:
- 6+ months of experience in business development, sales, consulting, or marketing,
- OR High School Diploma, General Educational Development (GED), or equivalent,
- OR equivalent experience.
- Ability to work two days a week from the San Francisco office or the Bellevue office
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ year(s) of experience in business development, sales, consulting, or marketing
In addition, this role also has the opportunity to earn sales incentives. On target earnings (OTE) is based on a 65/35 base salary/sales incentive.
These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual's base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role.
