Compensation: $27.88hr + & Benefits

Position Description: The Recovery Residence Lead oversees all aspects of running a sober based recovery home that serves 24 adults with SUD diagnosis under the supervision of the Administrative Manager. The day-to-day oversight includes running a team of approximately 12 staff/volunteers, interfacing with clinical staff, and other health and human services agencies under the supervision of the Administrative Manager. The position will include on-call role with responsibilities ranging, but not limited to, client advocacy, coaching staff and clients, activity coordination, facility maintenance and food services. You will provide clinical services such as group or individual counseling based on certification level. Additionally, you are an integral member of the Project Ninety’s Leadership Team.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

The Recovery Residence Lead shall carry out program services as supervised by the Administrative Manager including documentation of all activities provided to clients as is deemed necessary by licensing and contracting agencies.

  • Supervise Recovery Residence services to meet all applicable city, state, county and contractual regulations and requirements
  • Regular update of Resident/Residence rule book and operations manual and staff onboarding
  • Experienced in Evidence Based Practices, preferably CBT, MI, Seeking Safety Preferred.
  • Experience in providing clinical services   as a peer support specialist level is required
  • Provide referral and case management with ancillary agencies.
  • Provide documentation in Electronic Health Record meeting required timelines and regulations including UA, Medications, intake, discharges, bed board and clinical services documentation.
  • Train staff to teach and support clients with activities of daily living that are client centered and promotes recovery under the supervision of the Administrative Manager.
  • Responsible for Recovery Residence providing a trauma free supportive recovery environment.
  • Responsible for Recovery Residence providing scheduled activities that promote recovery and sober based life skills
  • Stays current with progressive trends in the SUD field.
  • Provides budget recommendations and is responsible for staying within the program budget.
  • Leads all aspects of daily health management including medications, hygiene, and nutrition.
  • Document County Unusual Incident Reports
  • Perform other related duties, responsibilities and special projects as assigned by Administrative Manager and Program Director and Executive Director.
  • Supports Administrative Manager to approve timecards and time off and scheduling of Facility Assistants.
  • Available to Recovery Residence emergencies on a 24-hour, 7 day a week basis (i.e., medical, staffing, etc. including on call needs)

Lead Responsibilities under the supervision of the Administrative Manager:

  • Provision of the initial orientation and training for new and existing staff to ensure Best Practices are being met.
  • Available to all emergencies on a 24-hour, 7 day a week basis (i.e., medical, staffing, etc. including on call needs)
  • Actively nurture and advance the cooperative, harmonious and teamwork-oriented environment Caminar strives to promote within the workplace; through daily efforts and presentation promote an atmosphere of dignity and in line with the organization’s mission, philosophy, policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the operations of the Food service, including quality and nutrition of meals and snacks
  • Responsible for all program forms (i.e., weekly staff schedule, program activity calendars, etc.)
  • Leads Recovery Residence staff meetings and individual meetings with staff and clients.
  • Oversee client activity and pass submissions during RR activity and Recovery Time
  • Facilitate collection of UA and documentation and oversee Staff UA collection and documentation
  • Manage client interaction and inter-relations including conflict resolution and de-escalation
  • RR Lead is primary contact for Facility Assistants
  • Oversee promotion of client to mentor and mentor to facility assistant
  • Responsible for managing all supplies, hygiene, cleaning, bedding including inventory and managing client return of Project Ninety goods at exit.
  • Responsible for cleanliness and good repair of all facilities.

Qualifications and Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • High school diploma or GED required.
  • The Lead shall have AOD Registration though certification is preferred; Through CCAPP, CADTP or CAADE. Certification as peer support specialist through CALMHSA will be considered.
  • Recovery Residence Lead shall possess a demonstrated knowledge of substance use disorders; ability to set priorities and carry through goals to completion; ability to work in a team environment; ability to facilitate crisis intervention; knowledge of evidence-based practices, and an ability to train others.
  • Two years of progressive experience in residential setting, preferred
  • Thorough understanding and experience in the delivery of culturally competent services to an ethnically and economically diverse male population.
  • Knowledgeable in confidentiality, CFR42 and HIPAA 
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment including email and Internet navigation required. Experience with Human Service Information Systems/EHR strongly preferred. 
  • Must be passionate about Caminar's mission.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English highly preferred.
  • Must have a valid California driver’s license and meet Caminar driving policy, occasionally transporting clients

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is required to:

   Physical: Occasionally required to push/pull objects up to 50 lbs. and frequently required to lift/carry objects up to 25 lbs.  Frequently required to perform moderately difficult manipulative tasks such as typing, writing, etc.  Must be able to frequently move about the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc., and sit for extended periods of time. 

   Sensory: Frequently required to read documents, written reports, and plans.  Ability to maintain client charts for accuracy of information at all times. Must be able to distinguish normal sounds with some background noise, as in answering the phone, interacting with residents and staff, etc. Must be able to speak clearly and understand/be understood using the English language. 

   Cognitive: Frequently required to concentrate on moderate detail with constant interruption. Must be able to attend to a task/function for 20-45 minutes at a time. Frequently required to understand and relate to specific ideas, several at a time. Must be able to remember multiple tasks/assignments given to self and others over a period of several days. 

   Environmental Conditions: Frequent exposure to varied office and mixed (residential/office) environments. 

Occasional exposure to toxins and poisonous substances, dust, and loud noises. 

   Equipment: Frequently required to use a computer, phone, and fax machine.

   Other:  Ability to drive own car or company vehicle throughout San Mateo County, occasionally transporting clients.  

 

Special Requirements:

         Must be able to meet and receive a criminal records clearance, as required by Title XXII, other licensing regulations, and Caminar practices.

         Must be able to pass post offer, pre-employment medical and drug tests as required under State Community Care Licensing regulations and/or agency policies.

         Will be required to obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certification.
