Description

Kidney Specialists of Southern Nevada (KSOSN) provides comprehensive kidney care and a full spectrum of kidney disease management resources for residents of Southern Nevada. Our care team educates and empowers patients who are living with kidney disease. With this exciting opportunity you will be joining a seasoned team of 65+ Physicians and Advanced Practitioners, as well as 130+ team members across eight office locations. We are looking for a dynamic Director of Practice Operations to join our growing team.

 

Job Purpose:

The Director of Practice Operations at Kidney Specialists of Southern Nevada is responsible for the efficient and effective management of the practice's administrative operations. This role ensures that all billing processes are accurate and timely, schedules are optimally managed, and financial transactions are processed correctly. The Director of Practice Operations plays a pivotal role in supporting the practice's mission to provide high-quality care by maintaining seamless operational workflows and addressing any administrative challenges that arise.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management

  • Oversee the daily functions of the practice to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Monitor practice workflows and recommend improvements.
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to ensure smooth operations and effective communication across the practice.

Staff Management

  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate administrative and support staff.
  • Schedule staff shifts and manage leave requests to maintain coverage.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and performance reviews.

Financial Oversight

  • Manage budgets, financial reports, and billing systems.
  • Monitor expenses and ensure proper invoicing.
  • Oversee billing operations and escalate unresolved issues from the billing company or providers to ensure timely and accurate financial processes.

Client/Patient Services

  • Ensure excellent customer service standards are met.
  • Handle escalated client/patient concerns and resolve complaints professionally.
  • Oversee appointment scheduling, authorizations and referrals, and follow-up procedures.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and licensing requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records for audits, inspections, and reporting.
  • Implement and enforce safety and privacy protocols (e.g., HIPAA in healthcare).

Technology & Systems

  • Oversee practice management software and electronic records systems.
  • Coordinate with IT providers for system updates, backups, and security.

Strategic Planning

  • Contribute to long-term planning and growth strategies.
  • Analyze practice performance metrics and create action plans for improvement.
  • Assist in marketing, community outreach, or business development initiatives.

Qualifications


Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field required (Master’s preferred).

 

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare management, preferably in a nephrology or specialty practice setting
  • Strong understanding of operational, financial, and regulatory aspects of a practice.
  • Proven track record of managing billing processes and resolving billing issues
  • Experience in scheduling and managing multiple physician/provider schedules, including PTO, hospital coverage, dialysis care conferences, clinic, meetings, and on-call schedules
  • Experience with Epic highly preferred
  • Experience with pMD highly preferred

 

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to oversee multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with providers, billing companies, and other stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills for reviewing and approving invoices
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
