Summary:
Omaha Ambulatory Surgery Center is looking for a Full Time Rad Tech who is able to run a C-Arm in the procedure room. Responsible for providing and assisting with intra-operative radiologic/fluoroscopic procedures as directed by physicians and assisting nursing staff in the care and management of patients.
Pay: $24 - 31 per hour
Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 7:30am - 5:30pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participates in radiologic/ fluoroscopic aspects of the delivery of patient care and completion of all activities according to established policy, procedure and protocol.
- Communicates accurate and timely information to the Registered Nurse regarding patient in their care.
- Records patient information clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner.
- Calibrates the equipment to ensure clear, usable images are taken of the correct area, as specified by the Doctor.
- Positions patients and equipment to capture the correct area and produce clear images.
- Prepares radiopharmaceuticals for contrast in the diagnostic images.
- Ensures the proper sterilization and storage of the equipment, maintaining radiographic equipment, and reporting any equipment failures.
- Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; and verifying receipt of supplies.
- Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols; following drug protocols in case of reactions to drugs, such as contrast media; and administering first aid and using the emergency cart.
- Performs related administrative duties including completing necessary forms, labeling films and film envelopes and maintaining procedure logs.
- Completes annual mandatory training by the assigned due date.
- Monitors and documents lead apron integrity annually.

- Associate degree in Radiography from an accredited school program required.
- Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) in the state and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required.
- One year of previous health care management experience required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Knowledge of the current trends and techniques of x-ray technology.
- Ability to learn to conduct quality control studies; learn to use computerized radiologic equipment; learn to operate a computer for recordkeeping purposes.
- Required to sit, stand and/or walk for long periods.
- Must be able to communicate with or without reasonable accommodations – speak and hear.
- Able to use both hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
