POSITION SUMMARY

 

The HR Generalist for the Shingle Springs Health & Wellness Center supports the operating team in the achievement of its people related objectives for employee and patient satisfaction, labor costs targets, talent development and the development and maintenance of a high performing, skilled and engaged workforce. He/she supports management with key initiatives as directed by HR and operational leadership and facilitates manager and staff access to HR services. The HR Generalist - H&WC is responsible for a range of human resources functions, including recruitment, performance management, onboarding, and compliance with tribal policies and procedures. After a period of training with SSBMI HR department, the incumbent in this position will work primarily at the Health & Wellness Center but will spend one day per week working with the rest of the HR team at the SSBMI HR Department. This position will also work closely with the Senior HR Generalist to address issues regarding employee relations and benefits/leave administration for employees of the Health & Wellness Center.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

  1. Talent Acquisition and Retention: Assist the Recruiting department with recruiting efforts and work with managers to ensure the applicants selected are the best fits for the role and for the department. Monitor engagement level of employees and implement initiatives to improve engagement when necessary.
  2. Performance Management: Oversee performance evaluation processes, providing guidance to supervisors on employee appraisals and professional development plans.
  3. Onboarding: Oversee the onboarding process for new H&WC employees, ensuring they are seamlessly integrated into the team and are familiar with organizational values and practices.
  4. HR Policy Compliance: Ensure HR practices at the H&WC are compliant with applicable federal, local and tribal regulations and policies. Keep abreast of the latest HR trends and laws.
  5. Diversity and Inclusion: Promote diversity and inclusion within the workplace and implement initiatives that support a culturally competent workforce.
  6. Health & Wellness Initiatives: Collaborate with management to develop and promote health and wellness programs for employees.
  7. Employee Relations: With guidance and oversight from the Sr. HR Generalist, address managers and employees’ inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure a harmonious workplace.
  8. Benefits Administration: With guidance and oversight from the Senior HR Generalist, assist with employee benefits programs’ administration, ensuring compliance and effectiveness.
  9. Leave and Worker’s Compensation Administration: With guidance and oversight from the Senior HR Generalist, manage employee leave policies for the H&WC and Worker’s Comp claims administration.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent education/experience.
  2. 4+ years relevant experience including employee relations, with at least 2 years’ experience working in the Healthcare field.
  1. Knowledge of Human Resources policies, practices, laws and regulations.
  2. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Demonstrates analytical skills, ability to influence at leadership level, exhibits group process and facilitation skills.
  4. Displays integrity and ethics in handling confidential information.
  5. Demonstrated ability to plan and accomplish multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining a high degree of organizational responsiveness.
  6. Ability to use computer software for analysis and presentation (i.e., spreadsheets, and word processing).
  7. Ability to organize, adapt and re-prioritize activities and projects to meet deadlines in an environment of rapid change and growth. Applies innovative and creative approach to assignments and challenges.
  8. Dependable transportation and appropriate driving record required for off-site assignments.
  9. Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.

 

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  1. 2+ years of Human Resources experience.
  2. THRP certification.
  3. SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR, SPHR certification
  4. Experience working with Tribal communities.
