Bessemer Trust is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Planning and Analysis (“FP&A”) Intern to join the FP&A team within the Finance organization. This internship provides the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial planning, reporting, and analysis, while contributing to meaningful projects that support the firm’s strategic goals. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, have strong analytical skills, and demonstrate proficiency in Excel and financial concepts.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Analysis & Reporting: Assist in preparing financial reports and analyses to provide insights into firm-wide performance. Support the tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends.
  • Forecasting & Planning Support: Contribute to the annual budget, forecasting cycles, and long-range planning processes by gathering data, updating models, and supporting scenario analyses.
  • Variance Analysis: Help compare actual results to budget and forecast, and prepare materials summarizing key drivers of variances.
  • Project-Based Work: Work on special FP&A projects across revenue, expenses, and profitability to gain exposure to multiple areas of financial planning.
  • Presentation Materials: Support the creation of high-quality presentation materials for leadership, including charts, tables, and summaries.
  • Process Improvement: Participate in initiatives to streamline reporting, improve forecasting workflows, and enhance financial dashboards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with colleagues across Finance and business units to collect data and provide analytical support.

 

Qualifications:

  • Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in financial services industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, charts); familiarity with PowerPoint.
  • Experience with dashboarding/visualization tools (Power BI or Tableau) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior internship or in finance/accounting is a plus, but not required.

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $35.00 - $40.00. Hourly rates will vary and will be based on various factors.
