Summer 2025 Digital/Social Media Internship
The Motion Picture Association Communications team is looking for an intern to assist with a variety of digital and social media tasks this summer.
The Digital Intern will work closely with the VP of Digital Strategy to create engaging content across the organization’s digital platforms and grow our online audience. The ideal applicant will have a strong knowledge of the current social media landscape and emerging trends, graphic design and video editing ability, a creative approach to producing digital content, and an interest in the entertainment industry. The intern will also assist with pre-and post-event promotion.

Responsibilities:
- Create engaging social media content, including graphics and short videos, for MPA and partner groups.
- Monitor social media engagement and analytics and provide regular reports to the team.
- Identify opportunities for digital engagement and collaboration with other organizations/industry voices.
- Draft email updates and assist with preparing/sending emails to MPA subscribers.
- Produce content for motionpictures.org and other MPA websites and assist with curating website content.
- Assist with producing content for pre- and post-event promotion.
- Staff in-person MPA events.
- Provide additional support to the communications team as needed.
Experience and Qualification:
- Proficiency in creating content for X (formerly known as Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, Threads, and LinkedIn.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (primarily Photoshop, InDesign, and Premiere).
- Strong working knowledge of MailChimp and WordPress.
- Experience with social media analytics, email analytics, and Google Analytics.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Work Hours:
- This is a full-time opportunity. Interns must be available to work at least 37.5 hours per week.
- Part-time applicants may also be considered.
Internship Compensation:
- This is a paid internship ($20/hr for undergraduates and $25/hr for students in a graduate program). In addition, MPA can provide the summer intern college credit through their college or university if eligible.
Work Location:
- The summer internship will be hybrid – we’ll be in the office three days a week and virtual on all others. The summer intern will also staff and support in-person MPA events. The summer intern will be reporting to the MPA’s communications team based in Washington, D.C. Intern will be required to have internet access and will need to provide their own computer.
