Our Opportunity

The selected individual will be responsible for building maintenance for both sites, ensures environmental compliance, manages the safety program including policies, procedures and training and assists with accident/near miss investigations.   

 Essential Duties

  • Coordinates with all city, county, and state authorities pertaining to all Environmental regulations, compliance, and permitting. (Cal EPA, State waterboards, AQMD, OHSA, and Fire Departments)
  • Maintaining all SDS sheets
  • Disposal and removal of all California regulated hazardous waste and maintaining copies of all Manifest.
  • Data entry on all State of California environmental portals (CERS and SMARTS)
  • Fire Safety Compliance (fire sprinklers, fire extinguishers, and fire alarm)
  • Forklift training
  • OHSA Compliance for Crane safety inspections
  • Elevator compliance
  • Facility maintenance such as furniture, plumbing, parking, gardening, tree trimming and supplies.
  • Scheduling preventive maintenance activities and maintaining preventive maintenance records.
  • Coordination of motor carrier permits.
  • Support the Lock Out/ Tag Out Program; Hoist/Crane Safety-Inspection Program; and Hot Work Permit Program as well as all other company safety polices.
  • Back up for disposal of recyclable materials & fluids/ hazard-waste  
  • Act as Safety focal form both Plant 1 and Plant 2, Lead company safety committees for both plants.
  • Develop and maintain IIPP program for entire company.
  • Manage month safety meetings.
  • Track and follow up on safety items that arise from Monthly meetings, safety committee and employee suggestions.
  • Assist with Accident investigations and root cause analysis of near misses and work injuries.
  • Training of employees.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.  

Qualifications

 Education/Experience

AA degree; preferred in Engineering or a related discipline. Experience with working with contractors, familiarity with all forms of plant maintenance and familiar with machine shop equipment and operations.

 Other Qualifications    

Five years’ related experience to items above including facilities maintenance and/or machine shop operations to include contracting with vendors, facility project management electrical systems, HVAC equipment and machining.

  • Project management.
  • Requires working under very tight scheduling.
  • Ability to conceptualize a large series of actions from start to finish and to evaluate the different conditions of each.
  • Willingness to work with people to get things done and adhere to schedules.
  • Able to effectively and communicate verbally and in writing utilizing Microsoft
  • Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
