Schedules vary with shifts ranging from pool opening (5:00 am) to closing (10:00pm)



Position Duties


  • Monitors all areas of the pool, effectively enforces pool rules and regulations, and reacts proactively to prevent accidents, injuries, and incidents.

  • Responds and reacts effectively and efficiently to emergency situations.

  • Actively assists in daily maintenance and cleaning of the pools, locker rooms, decks, and surrounding areas of the facility.

  • Attends and participates in all training sessions.  Maintains all required skills and certifications.

  • Completes necessary paperwork including but not limited to accident reports, cleaning and maintenance logs, attendance logs and class certificates

  • Assists with opening and closing procedures and transitions in pools.  Takes care of equipment and stores equipment properly. 

  • Takes proper safety precautions, anticipates unsafe conditions, uses all required and appropriate safety equipment.

  • Uses PPE and follows proper protocol and procedures when cleaning up bodily fluids and other biohazard material and bloodborne pathogens. 

  • Provides ongoing customer service.

  • Wears and maintains appropriate uniform.

  • Communicates, answers questions, and responds appropriately with internal and external staff, supervisors, customers, and user groups.

Lifeguard/Instructor I or II (Performs the following additional duties):

  • Teaches swimming lessons and other aquatic programs and classes to persons of all ages and ability levels. 

  • Teaches according to curriculum and objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

New hires must, as a condition of employment, pass the following pre-offer and post-offer/hire processes: in-person or virtual interviews, reference checks, background checks including local police check and sex-offender registry.

  • Must be 15 years of age.
