American GI Forum - National Veterans Outreach Program is a nonprofit organization. Our mission is to establish and maintain a comprehensive community service agency with a diversified funding source serving the needs of Veterans, their families, and other individuals of the community who are in need. Our goal is to establish innovative programs of service for the contemporary needs, through an expansion and growth policy that will seek complimentary services that will generate self-sustaining mechanisms for the organization.

SUMMARY

The Medical Project Manager will ensure that assigned project-based programs adhere to established schedules, specifications, and budgets.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the strategic and operational efforts to launch the clinic
  • Formulate, organize, and monitor inter-connected projects
  • Secure and managing all necessary equipment and personnel
  • Assume responsibility for the program’s people and vendors
  • Keep financial resources in check to stay on schedule and within budget
  • Obtain essential permits and ensure everything’s done by the book
  • Set up and implement KPIs to track success
  • Create a full setup with lab, x-ray, pharmacy, primary care, urgent care, specialty services and a surgical suite.
  • Lay down the groundwork for smooth clinic operations and staff onboarding by the FMC date
  • Assess program performance 
  • Resolve projects’ higher scope issues
  • Prepare reports for Director STX Housing & Veteran Enterprises of Texas
  • Confirms that assigned programs are completed according to specifications, budgets, and timelines.
  • Takes proactive steps to minimize delays in delivery.
  • Regularly communicates with customers/clients to arrange meetings, confirm program schedules, and discuss any program problems.
  • Ensures that customers and/or clients are regularly informed of the status of the program.
  • Regularly communicates with management regarding the program’s status and any problems or potential problems.
  • Forecasts potential schedule delays and develops alternate plans.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  • At least three years of related experience preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Medical Program Manager or other managerial position
  • Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
  • Prior work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Must have access to reliable transportation 
  • Must always have a current Texas driver’s license
  • Must always have applicable automobile liability insurance
  • All personnel of the organization must be bondable 
  • Must pass drug testing and background check

TRAVEL

Primarily local during business day although some out-of-area travel may be expected via airline or automobile based on the discretion of management.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this position, the employee will conduct office work, meet with clientele, and team members, and at times travel offsite to conduct business. Employee may be exposed to varying weather conditions. Employee will also be required to work in varied office and residential environment based on assigned caseload. Employee will be able to handle and de-escalate situations that may arise while at work.
