Location: Katy Golf Club, Parsons, Kansas
Position Overview: The Assistant Golf Course Manager supports the Golf Course Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the golf course, including the pro shop, food & beverage services, tournaments, events, and course maintenance coordination. This position plays a vital role in delivering excellent customer service, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere, and maintaining the financial and operational success of the facility.
Assistant Golf Course Manager Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in managing day-to-day operations of the golf course, clubhouse, restaurant, and event facilities.
Provide a friendly, professional, and customer-focused environment for golfers, guests, and event participants. Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and special requests promptly.
Help supervise, train, and schedule front-line staff, Fosters teamwork and positive morale.
Assist with maintaining budgets, revenue goals and expense controls to maximize profitability.
Support the planning and execution of golf leagues, tournaments, and community events, ensuring smooth operations and excellent participant experiences.
Assist with point-of-sale transactions, cash handling, inventory control, and reporting to ensure accurate record-keeping and profitability.
Communicate with the superintendent and maintenance team to ensure the course, clubhouse, and equipment are well-maintained and safe for use.
Help enforce course rules, safety policies, and industry standards to protect staff, players, and the facility.
Assist in promoting the golf course, membership programs, events, and food & beverage offerings through community engagement and social media support.
Other duties as assigned.
Assistant Golf Course Manager Education and Qualifications:
Prior experience in golf course, hospitality, or recreational facility management preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
Knowledge of golf operations, turf management, and food & beverage best practices.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings as required.
Proficiency in POS systems, scheduling software, and basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, email, social media).
Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and remain calm in high-volume situations.
Assistant Golf Course Manager Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of Assistant Golf Course Manager, the employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Assistant Golf Course Manager Work Environment:
While performing the duties of Assistant Golf Course Manager, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work involves exposure to hot surfaces and sharp utensils. Weekend, evening, and holiday availability required.
