Coordinates the on-site community volunteer work projects by determining the needs for what jobs and supplies are needed within the community and the work-site project. Field coordinator oversees the management of each volunteer work project to ensure completion. Determine the needs for volunteers, evaluate volunteer abilities for work projects, place volunteers in community work sites, oversee the training of volunteers, document volunteer work hours and follow-up on volunteer services, projects, and work sites. Responsible for completing reports on finished projects.
Job Duties:Confers with Cherokee Nation communities and administrative staff to plan volunteer projects consistent with the needs of the Cherokee Nation communities and organizes, schedules and plans the projects based on input. Evaluates potential work-site projects to determine what materials, tools, and skills will be needed to complete the job. Coordinates the tasks of the volunteers on site to ensure materials needed to complete each project are available. Assists Field Coordinators in researching areas of Cherokee Nation and its communities to procure possible job sites and work projects for potential volunteers groups. Assesses each project with the help of the community and individuals by taking measurements if needed, preparing a list of materials, tools, and supplies. Determines the number of people required to complete each assignment and what skills are needed. Prepares a list of skills that will be needed for a project, and recruit skilled people to help within the area that will benefit most. Communicates with other departments within Cherokee Nation to be able to use their materials, tools, and assist with what projects they may have we can help to complete. Prepares a write up of all projects with descriptions about who the projects are for, i.e., elderly, disabled, widowed or single mom with children. Maintains a working, personal partnership with communities, their organizations and other entities with the community for information to locate future projects and future hosts for out of state volunteers. Completes a printed listing of projects, their area, location and the urgency of what needs to be finished. Maintains a list of churches, community buildings, and other facilities available in the area where potential projects may be located. Keeps on file a list of names, addresses, and phone number of each contact person. Maintains a record of each community, work project with those who have hosted volunteers, who the volunteers were, where volunteers where from, where they have stayed in each community and what projects they have completed. Other duties may be assigned.

No supervisory responsibility.
Qualifications:EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
None required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
At least (2) years of experience in a related field.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers; or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). Requires basic computer knowledge.
May be required to meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally required to sit; and taste or smell. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must frequently use hands to finger, handle or feel; talk or hear.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; extreme cold (non-weather) and extreme heat (non-weather). The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
