ASSURING COMPLIANCE OF ALL SAFETY AND PROCEDURAL REQUIREMENTS. IN ORDER TO EXCEED CUSTOMER EXPECTATION WHILE MAINTAINING PROFITS WITHIN OPERATIONS. By directing receiving, warehousing, and distribution services; supervising staff; interacting with customers.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS:
1. MAXIMIZES EFFENCIES OF OPERATION.
By matching appropriate staffing levels to the level of work required, in the most cost-effective methods identified by DDG. Utilizing the maximum space allocation and overseeing the proper handling of the inventory. Training staff on QMS/ Safety process and procedures, eliminating customer non conformances. Maintaining building and equipment ensuring preventable repairs to property and equipment are completed on schedule. Compiling data to support LEAN Six Sigma process analysis. Recognizing new business opportunities, with current customers.
2. SAFEGUARDS WAREHOUSE PERSONNEL, EQUIPMENT, AND PROPERTY
By assuring staff compliance with regard to QMS, Safety and site-specific policy/procedures. Assuring operational compliance with OSHA and DOT regulations. Establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols. Providing on-going safety instruction to personnel as needed. Reporting all work-related injuries to the Operations Manager.
3. KEEPS ENVIRONMENT CLEAN AND SAFE
By cleaning work areas throughout operational day, ensuring exits, extinguishers, safety showers and eyewash stations are always readily accessible and fully operational. Assisting Operations Manager with all building maintenance needs, along with monitoring external vendors while on site. Attending and providing required training sessions as needed.
4. MAINTAINS PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
By attending training workshops on OSHA, ISO, DOT procedures. Reviewing updates regarding changes in OSHA, ISO, DOT/IMDG/IATA requirements. Reviewing updates and information sent regarding employment law. Continual use of WMS by internal and external systems. Knowledgeable in use of all Microsoft applications, and Outlook
5. CONTRIBUTES TO TEAM EFFORTS
Follows direction of Sr. Management to assist where needed. Ability to assist upon short notice as required to meet all Dunavant customer requirements. Assist in other regional operations as needed. Participates or leads on site customer walk through, inventory counts, or other customer needs as identified. Participates and promotes safe operations of all employees. Participates with emergency responses as identified, stays current with all PPE, CPR, fit testing, and supplemental training for emergency response. Maintains a positive influence on supervised staff, has ability/desire to grow within organization
Duties are primarily performed in an office environment. Minimal physical effort is required. Lifting and carrying requirements of up to 15 pounds. Occasional or frequent ability to move boxes from one location to another.
