Responsibilities:
  • Manage and execute multiple quality assurance functions in support of CIS’s overall Quality Assurance Program. Direct, implement, and execute the overall Quality Assurance process and oversee a variety of activities to standardize processes, improve procedures and ensure the necessary steps are in place to provide quality products by performing the following duties:
  • Champion continuous improvement efforts and defect reduction initiatives to maintain an effective ISO 9001: 2015 and Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Have AS9100 standard experience, thorough understanding of requirements and previous experience working in an AS9100 environment for the Aerospace industry.  Must have the ability to implement AS9100 and flow down requirements to the supply base.
  • Ensure compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices and required Code of Federal Regulations as applicable. Initiate and implement quality improvement activities as appropriate to raise the performance of the company’s product lines.
  • Educate and train employees as to their impact in the quality management system. Staffs and trains Quality Assurance personnel and develop administrative guidelines.
  • Serve as the primary Quality Assurance resource for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain Quality Assurance responsibilities, which include: Quality at the design phase, Supplier Quality, Quality Assurance at Receiving, In-Process Quality, Final Assembly Quality Assurance Testing and Inspection, and other Quality Testing required.
  • Manage the NCMR / Deviation systems including MRB and the support of the Customer Complaint process, including root cause corrective and preventative action process.
  • Design, implement and document procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection in accordance with Engineering which manages the Configuration Management function.
  • Develop quality planning methods for all product lines
  • Report to Operations and Engineering management on quality issues, trends and losses
  • Recommend new technology to enhance defect detection of incoming parts, in process assemblies and finished goods committed
  • Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality control and assure that effective correction action is implemented
  • In conjunction with the Director of Supply Chain, develop and maintain supplier quality to meet CIS’s quality management system, ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100 standards.

 

OPERATING HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS:

  • This position anticipates on-site work with regular hours, Monday-Friday. Occasional telework may be considered and will be discussed as a part of the interview process.

 

WORK LOCATION AND TRAVEL:

  • Primary work location will be the CIS Secure headquarters facility located in Ashburn, VA. Minimal local travel is anticipated for this position.
Qualifications:

CLEARANCE:

  • Active and current Secret clearance, highly desired; or ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience in a Quality Assurance related field.
  • Graduate degree, desired.

CERTIFICATION(S):

  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt from ASQ or other credible organization, highly desired.
  • ASQ certification - Manager of Quality/Organizational Execellence Certification CMQ/OE, desired.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Fifteen (15) years related experience including a minimum of eight years of experience that must be in a Quality Assurance senior management role.

     

  • Experience working with ISO-9001:2015 processes and procedures, in a Manufacturing environment. 

  • Aerospace MIL-STD experience.

  • AS9100 certification experience, ability to develop and maintain the program.

  • Experience with assembly and manufacturing of electronic assemblies, cables, printed circuit boards, sheet metal fabrication, machined parts and testing of such equipment.

  • IPC 610, IPC 620 and J-STD-001 standards knowledge.

  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills with all levels in the organization, including strong presentation skills

  • Excellent influencing, conflict management, and team building skills

  • Demonstrated leadership skills; builds commitment and overcomes resistance; prepares and supports those affected by change; monitors transition and evaluates results

  • Excellent planning, problem solving and organizational skill.

  • Understands business implications of decisions; displays orientation to profitability; demonstrates knowledge of market and competition; aligns work with strategic goals.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to travel, fly and/or drive a car for client visits.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The noise level is equivalent to an office environment.
