PART-TIME Volunteer Services Coordinator bei Open Hand Atlanta

THIS IS A PART-TIME POSITION (less 29 hours per week)

Salary:$14.00 - $15.00 per hour  

Residency Requirement: Primary residence must be in the state of Georgia 

Job Summary 

Responsible for the detailed day-to-day assistance to the Volunteer Services department, any volunteer services’ needs, and all related activities. 

Duties/ Responsibilities 

• Assist with Loading Volunteer Driver vehicles, and work with Volunteer Loading Assistants 
• Assist Managers with recruitment of adequate volunteers on a continuous basis.   
• Send “confirmation texts” to Volunteers via our Google text line 
• Assist with planning and implementation of special projects to fulfill Open Hand Needs. 
• Promote the Open Hand Atlanta volunteer program through presentations, attending volunteer events, and using social media.

Required Skills/Abilities 

• Proficient in basic computer applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets, and internet usage.   
• Ability to solve practical problems and transfer current knowledge to new situations. 
• Ability to deal with diverse groups, ages and organizational levels of volunteers, donors and staff. 
• Ability to coordinate activities and assign tasks to others.  
• Ability to communicate effectively with other professionals and clients.   
• Ability to effectively communicate and present information to the public. 
• Must also be available to work a flexible schedule which includes holidays and possibly weekends. 
• Shift time is M-F 7:30am-12pm.  Arrival time is flexible. 
• Must have transportation and willingness to take out meals in the event of a volunteer cancelling their shift. 

Education/Experience 

• Must have High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and acceptable reading skills.   
• Preferred a 2-year Associate degree.

Physical Requirements 

• The employee is required to walk, stand, drive a car, and lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, and withstand going in and out of freezers and coolers.
