Position Summary: The Digital Marketing Lead will serve as the subject matter expert for paid digital marketing within Smart City Digital. They will own campaign strategy, execution, and optimization across paid social and search platforms, and oversee the Digital Marketing team’s day-to-day work, providing guidance to ensure quality and consistency. This role is the primary point of contact for all client communication related to digital marketing, ensuring the Associate Director is included on all updates, decisions, and correspondence. The Digital Marketing Lead will work closely with the Associate Director to refine strategies, participate in client-facing performance calls, and ensure campaigns align with client goals while supporting broader business objectives.

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role where strategic thinking, tactical execution, and partnership skills matter equally.

Essential Functions:

Operations & Client Communication:

  • Lead digital marketing strategy across Meta (Instagram/Facebook), TikTok, Google Ads, and emerging platforms.
  • Set campaign goals and KPIs, allocate budgets per client/property, and develop optimization cadences to improve CPC, CTR, and conversions.
  • Monitor daily performance and adjust creative and spend in real time.
  • Report clearly on wins, learnings, and performance trends using both platform dashboards and custom tracking tools (GA4, UTM, Meta Pixel, etc).
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all client communication related to the Digital Marketing team, leading monthly email reporting, responding promptly to client questions, and ensuring the Associate Director  is included on all updates, decisions, and correspondence.
  • Partner with the Associate Director on quarterly reporting calls to review results, discuss trends, and align on strategy.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure campaign goals align with client objectives while supporting broader creative and business strategies.

Leadership & Strategy:

  • Provide oversight and review on campaigns, reports, creative refreshes, and performance optimizations.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert in digital paid media, educating team members and identifying trends to test across accounts.
  • Partner with the Associate Director to shape performance marketing strategy.
  • Build documentation, processes, and scalable workflows to improve quality and consistency.
  • Develop paid media strategies that align with client goals and brand standards.
  • Drive ideation and iteration for ad creative and A/B testing.
  • Keep up to date on platform updates, privacy changes, and digital marketing best practices.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve campaign performance and client satisfaction.
  • Support timely and accurate delivery of all reporting.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support the Digital Marketing team, offering coaching, clear expectations, and development opportunities.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or related field is preferred
  • 4+ years of paid media or performance marketing experience
  • 1+ years in a team lead or supervisory role
  • Experience in B2B or lead generation environments required
  • Multifamily or real estate marketing experience is a plus

  • Meta Business Suite (Facebook/Instagram)
  • TikTok Ads Manager
  • Google Ads & GA4
  • Google Tag Manager
  • UTM tracking best practices
  • Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, etc)
  • Strong data analysis and interpretation skills
  • Experience optimizing across multiple budgets and accounts
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

Physical Requirements:

  • Hybrid (Remote-First): Primarily remote with quarterly in-person planning sessions, team events, and occasional one-off meetups. 
  • Assures that safety regulations are followed at all times.
  • Adherence to compliance measures implemented by governing bodies such as but not limited to OSHA & the CDC. Follows policies and procedures including infection control, universal precautions, and exposure control plans when performing daily tasks.
  • Reports hazardous conditions, accidents, and incidents to the immediate supervisor.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching.

Expected Hours of Work:

  • Typical business hours: 8:30am - 5:30pm Monday - Friday, availability for escalations may be needed outside of normal business hours.

Travel:

  • Up to 10% of the time.
  • Minimal travel may be required for business functions, team training, and culture events.
