Monday through Friday, 8am-4pm


Purpose:  

The Intake Therapist Supervisor provides both administrative oversight and direct clinical services within YWCA’s Clinical & Recovery Program. This position ensures quality intake assessments, clinical counseling services, and supervision of assigned staff. Responsibilities include coordinating intake and treatment planning processes, providing therapy and crisis intervention, overseeing compliance with licensing/accreditation standards, and supporting billing, grants, and reporting functions. The role is essential in ensuring that clients’ therapeutic needs are met while maintaining trauma-informed best practices and fostering a safe, supportive recovery environment.

Essential Duties:

Clinical Intake & Therapeutic Services:

  • Conduct comprehensive intake assessments, biopsychosocial evaluations, and diagnostic screenings.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment and discharge plans in collaboration with clients and their families/support systems.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions including individual, group, and family therapy, psychoeducation, and crisis intervention.
  • Ensure appropriate coordination of care with case managers, community resources, DCS, and other professional providers.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation (assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, discharge summaries) in alignment with Medicaid, DMHA, CARF, and other regulatory standards.
  • Facilitate continuity of care and aftercare planning for residents transitioning from services.

Supervision & Staff Leadership:

  • Provide direct supervision, training, and performance management for assigned clinical team members.
  • Foster a trauma-informed, team-oriented culture among clinical and recovery staff.
  • Conduct individual and group supervision meetings; oversee staff performance evaluations and disciplinary actions in coordination with HR and program directors.
  • Support professional development and continuing education of supervisees.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of new staff.

Program Administration & Compliance:

  • Maintain treatment outcome data and prepare reports for grants, licensing, and accreditation bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance standards for CARF, INARR, DMHA, Medicaid, and other regulatory entities.
  • Support billing and claims processes by maintaining intake and census documentation, reassessments, and eligibility paperwork.
  • Participate in the Recovery On-Call Rotation.
  • Assist with program development initiatives that improve clinical care and client outcomes.

Requirements

 

Education:

  • Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field required.
  • Indiana State Licensure (LMHC, LCAC, LMFT, LCSW) required, LCSW preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications (or ability to obtain shortly after hire).

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in addiction treatment, recovery services, or mental health counseling.
  • At least 2 years of experience in staff supervision or clinical leadership preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, CBT/DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and recovery-based treatment models.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar).
  • Strong organizational, time management, and record-keeping skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with all populations.
  • Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, including occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call duties.

Physical/Mental Essential Requirements:

  • Walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, moderate lifting and carrying (up to 30 pounds). 
  • Full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. 
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.  
  • Ability to sit at a computer work station for extended periods of time.  
  • Occasional need to stand for long periods of time.  
  • Ability to focus on detail and accuracy of work product.  
  • Work is performed primarily in a non-smoking office environment, though travel may expose employee to inclement weather conditions. 
  • Occasional high stress may be experienced in dealing with clients, staff, and volunteers.
