How your role fits into Boldt:
Our Network Engineer oversees the workflow involved in maintaining Boldt’s enterprise network. This role is responsible for designing and implementing the company's network infrastructure and resolving support issues. A key component of this role includes data security.

What you get to do:

  • Manage work related to VPNs, routers, switches, Wi-Fi, and other physical hardware.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot various network equipment.
  • Manage firewalls and cybersecurity systems to keep data and communications protected.
  • Monitor systems to improve network performance and diagnose issues.
  • Troubleshoot, resolve, and communicate networking issues to other employees and
    management.
  • Review and implement disaster recovery procedures.
  • Maintain current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to
    offer solutions and protections.
  • Understand department priorities and objectives and participate in accomplishing them.

What we expect from you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Information Science, System Administration, or related field. An
    equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 4-6 years of network or system administration experience required.
  • Experience with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless network infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools (SolarWinds, Cisco ISE, Cisco Catalyst Center, Cisco FMC).
  • Experience with zero trust network architecture and/or network segmentation.
  • Industry certification such as CCST, CCNA or higher area a plus.
  • Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, Azure Cloud or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and protocols.
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools.
  • Self-motivated; ability to efficiently prioritize and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to retain knowledge and remain current with new industry developments and guidelines.
  • Demonstrate conceptual and analytical thinking: have strong prioritization and decision-making skills; ability to understand the overall big picture yet focus on and complete details well.
  • Passion for solving problems – ability to do so timely and accurately – and driven to followthrough to resolution.
  • Demonstrate curiosity and desire to learn more.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle highly confidential information.
  • Professional and positive demeanor with internal and external customers.
  • A valid driver’s license may be required. Individuals in this role may be subject to an annual Motor Vehicle Records check. The outcome of any MVR checks conducted may negatively impact the persons’ ability to participate in any vehicle program provided by the company,

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position for up to eight hours. The employee occasionally is required to move to access people or workspaces. Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer. The ability to optimally communicate is required. The employee may occasionally move up to 15 pounds.
The working condition of this position requires the employee to work inside an office environment. The environment for which this position functions may contain scents and fragrances. May be requested to work overtime and weekends.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $90,290 - $118,110 per year. This range represents what The Boldt Company reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered will be dependent upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to: candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, alignment with market data and internal equity as well as other business and organizational needs. Our expectation is that the incumbent will work at our Appleton, WI office. If the incumbent works out of a different location, the anticipated salary range is subject to change.
