Location: Seattle, WA
Type: Full-time | On-site upon start. (Will consider hybrid work situation once established in position.)
Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Staff Accountant, you will play an important role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting government contract compliance, and contributing to the company’s fiscal health. You’ll collaborate across departments to ensure timely reporting and budgeting for both commercial and federally funded projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and federal regulations (FAR, DFARS, etc.)
- Managing the accounts payable and accounts receivable process.
- Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and maintain general ledger accuracy.
- Reconciling bank statements and general ledger accounts.
- Payroll processing support, including expense reimbursements, labor allocation management and preparing payroll taxes.
- Assisting with capital assets and maintaining accurate and organized financial records.
- Stay current on accounting standards and regulatory changes.
- Assist with the month end close process.
- Support budgeting and financial reporting for government contracts and grants
- Assist with audits and internal controls
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- BS degree in accounting, finance or business. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- CPA preferred.
- 3+ years of accounting experience preferably in the biotech area or manufacturing.
- Experience with ERP systems, Acumatica a plus.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of accounting requirements for government contracts and grants a plus.
- Must be organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to take the initiative in resolving questions and problems that arise.
