Position Objective:
The Facilities Supervisor leads the day-to-day operations of both the maintenance and housekeeping teams within the Physical Plant department. This role ensures that campus buildings are clean, safe, functional, and well-maintained through direct supervision, technical expertise, and effective team training. The Facilities Supervisor plays a key role in planning, prioritizing, and executing work orders and projects.

Supervisory Role: Oversees all Maintenance and Housekeeping staff, student workers, and related service functions.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- 	High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. 
- 	Minimum 7 years of experience in facilities maintenance or operations. 
- 	At least 4 years of supervisory experience in maintenance and/or custodial services. 
- 	Specialized training or certification in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related trades preferred. 
- 	Valid driver’s license with clean driving record. 
- 	Background check required. 
Skills & Abilities
- 	Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical). 
- 	Experience with custodial operations and industry standards. 
- 	Strong team leadership, mentoring, and performance evaluation skills. 
- 	Project coordination and contractor/vendor oversight experience. 
- 	Effective communication, time management, and problem-solving skills. 
- 	Familiarity with Microsoft Office, work order and building automation software. 
- 	Ability to read and interpret work orders, technical manuals, and building plans. 
- 	Flexibility to respond to campus needs during nights, weekends, holidays, and emergencies. 
Responsibilities
Supervision & Staff Leadership
- 	Supervise and lead maintenance and housekeeping staff and student workers. 
- 	Conduct regular staff performance reviews and provide constructive feedback. 
- 	Train team members in proper maintenance, safety, and custodial techniques. 
- 	Schedule and assign daily work tasks, special projects, and event-related needs. 
- 	Promote a team culture centered on accountability, safety, and excellence. 
Facilities Maintenance
- 	Oversee all maintenance operations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs. 
- 	Coordinate preventive maintenance across campus facilities. 
- 	Support the Director in managing capital improvement and renovation projects. 
- 	Inspect completed work and ensure compliance with college and safety standards. 
- 	Assist with emergency response for maintenance-related incidents. 
Housekeeping Oversight
- 	Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout all campus buildings. 
- 	Develop and implement daily, weekly, and special cleaning schedules. 
- 	Manage custodial inventory and ordering of supplies. 
- 	Provide quality control inspections and follow up on deficiencies. 
- 	Coordinate custodial support for campus events and peak activity times. 
Administrative & Operational Support
- 	Collaborate with department assistant to manage work order system, invoices, and purchasing. 
- 	Maintain records of inspections, repairs, and safety compliance. 
- 	Communicate effectively with other departments to meet campus facility needs. 
- 	Report facility concerns to the Director and make proactive recommendations for improvements. 
- 	Assist in budget planning for housekeeping and maintenance areas. 
- 	Perform other related duties as assigned in support of the Physical Plant and overall College ministry. 
Physical Requirements
- 	Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. 
- 	Ability to work on roofs, ladders, and scaffolds. 
- 	Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics or basements. 
- 	Proficient knowledge of hand and power tools. 
- 	Operate vehicles and powered equipment (e.g., snowplows, lifts, backhoes). 
- 	Participate in inclement weather response and emergency operations.
