Position Description

Title: Shipping & Receiving Associate

Department: PolyAir - IPG Chicago

Immediate Supervisor: Plant Supervisory Staff

Status: Hourly, Non - Exempt

Shift: Monday - Friday, 7 AM - 4 PM

Position Purpose: Ships & Receives Loads

Pay Range: From $17.00 up to $19.50.

*Cross-Training Compensation program is available for employees. *

Principle Accountabilities

• Load and unload trucks and other delivery vehicles
• Perform physical material handling and counting
• Deal with internal mail / packages / item distribution
• Perform internal and carrier systems activity transactions
• Check in carriers and ship release
• Handle and create receipt and shipping documentation
• All duties outlined in Responsibilities of All Plant Employees.
• All other duties as assigned

Essential Skills and Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• 2+ Years in a Manufacturing environment / general labor experience preferred.
• Intermediate math skills and English written communication skills necessary.
• Ability to stand, sit and walk for up to 8-10 hours at a time required
• Ability to work in space limited work area on continuous basis.
• Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs on a consistent basis
• General computer knowledge and experience handling paperwork, Excel a plus
• Effective interpersonal skills
• Ability to perform the physical aspects of the role following recommended practices, with an emphasis on safety and injury prevention
• Inventory experience preferred
