Summary
The Facilities Assistant position maintains the facilities of the agency in a clean and safe manner by providing quality groundskeeping, cleaning and minor repair services.
Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Provides groundskeeping services by mowing, pulling weeds, tree trimming, snow removal, and pre-treating sidewalks.
- Ensures the successful operations of the agency by replacing and minor repairing of supplies and equipment, to include painting and wall repair.
- Vacuums, sweeps, and wet mops carpeted, and tiled floor surfaces as needed.
- Shampoos and does stain removal of all carpeted areas as needed. Strips, scrubs, and waxes tiled floor surfaces as needed.
- Cleans all windows, woodwork, windowsills, lobby mirrors, and walls as needed.
- Tidies lobby waiting areas by arranging magazines and picking up trash.
- Dusts desks, filing cabinets, bookcases as needed.
- Disposes of all trash around the perimeter of the buildings including yards and parking areas.
- Arranges tables and chairs in meeting rooms as needed for groups and other functions. Informs Facilities Manager of cleaning and sanitation supplies as needed to keep supplies in-stock.
- Replaces light bulbs and replaces other equipment and supplies such as paper towels in order to keep the agency operating in good order.
- Reports all major equipment breakage to the Facilities Manager.
Work Environment
Work is regularly performed in a combination of office and shop environments and is regularly exposed to dust, odors, oils, fumes, and noise. This role uses standard office equipment such as tablets/computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

This position also requires the ability to interpret written materials, write reports and business correspondence, and effectively present and respond to questions.

Experience
Prior custodial experience is preferred.

Computer Skills
Computer experience in Microsoft Office programs and basic computer fluency.

Ability to work Monday through Friday and weekends as needed; possess demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to react effectively in a variety of human service situations; ability to preserve confidential information; ability to work independently.
