DeMayo Law Offices is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the Litigation Attorneys and Paralegals by ensuring the completeness and organization of the client files.
Responsibilities
- Scheduling and calendar management for attorney
- Recording key discovery and case development deadlines
- Assisting with preparation of pleadings
- Overseeing service of process and management of summons
- Preparing correspondence
- Updating information in firm’s case management programs
- Conducting criminal background checks
- Communication with insurance companies regarding coverage
- File management and organization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred; however, a combination of education, certifications and experience may be considered
- Minimum of 2 years’ legal administrative experience required (personal injury litigation experience preferred)
- Must be self-motivated and demonstrate initiative to complete duties without supervision
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task while maintaining high attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize job responsibilities to accommodate an ever-changing, fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows/Office and ability to learn and use various software programs
- Experience using Litify software, or any other legal database software, preferred
