Position Overview:
The Financial Analyst will be empowered to develop and maintain the Company’s financial reporting and planning platform. This position will possess a unique view of the business and support the executive finance, manufacturing, and other functional teams in analyzing historical results as well as planning for future opportunities. The Financial Analyst will be a key member of MP Materials’ corporate finance and planning team.
Position Responsibilities:
- Collect and process financial and other types of data for use in reports and analysis.
- Prepare basic reports, reconciliations, sensitivities, statistical analysis, and visualizations.
- Analyze and interpret data, reports, analysis and research reports.
- Present conclusions and recommendations with clear distinction between fact and opinion.
Other Functions:
- Develop and maintain dashboards, weekly manager reports and recurring analysis.
- Develop forecast models to support strategic processes.
- Provide weekly and monthly reports and analysis for senior leadership.
- Manage aspects of the annual planning process.
- Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with focus in finance, accounting, math, or economics is preferred.
- 2+ years of work experience in manufacturing or public company experience is desired.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and operational drivers.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with manufacturing accounting systems such as SAP is a plus.
- Experience with business intelligence software such as PowerBI or SQL is a plus.

- Ability to identify objectives, collect and process data, analyze, interpret results, and present conclusions and recommendations.
- Must be self-directed, highly collaborative, and able to handle a variety of responsibilities.
- Ability to work with all levels within the organization, including senior management.
- Ability to work with internal customers and external agencies for compliance and controls.
- Strong verbal and written presentation skills.
- Familiarity with, or keen interest in learning about, mining, manufacturing, and industrial processes.
