Estimated Hiring Salary Range: $48,438. - $55,358.   Full Salary Range: $42,072. - $75,287. Annually

 Work Schedule: 
 Monday - Thursday 6:15am - 4:45pm (10 hr shifts)

As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will:

• Operate heavy equipment to perform preventative and emergency maintenance on the city's sanitary sewer system.
• Maintain and service all associated sewer maintenance equipment.
• Complete daily work logs, sanitary sewer overflow reports, and required documentation for internal and state reporting.
• Supervise and evaluate the work of a Vactor Helper on the crew.
• Perform heavy lifting, climbing, bending, and stooping in physically demanding conditions.
• Serve in an on-call rotation and respond to emergencies and inclement weather conditions as needed.

• Experience operating heavy equipment, preferably in sewer maintenance or a similar field.
• Strong leadership skills to direct and evaluate team members.
• Ability to perform physical tasks in demanding outdoor environments.
• Willingness to work on-call and in emergency situations.
