Position Summary: 

Vericel Burn Clinical Specialists partner closely with their regional team member(s) to support surgical case management for Vericel Burn Care products. The Burn Clinical Specialist’s responsibilities include providing Burn Center guidance, training, support, and input for optimal utilization of Vericel Products with appropriate patients. These Specialists utilize their clinical expertise to influence sales within each of our Burn Centers (UCI, Torrance, UCSD, Arrowhead, UCLA West Valley, LA County, Bakersfield Memorial, Santa Clara, Community Regional Medical Center).

Position Scope:

  • Serve as the clinical expert in sales opportunities in partnership with the team.
  • Execute clinical education programs for priority/target accounts that promote knowledge, increase product product utilization, and increase account revenue.
    • Metric:  Quarterly training for new Burn Center staff.
  • Train and support all applicable Burn Center staff within region including ability to:
    • Convey product information as a part of the portfolio training presentations.
    • Convey information regarding procedures appropriate for Epicel® (cultured epidermal autografts)/NexoBrid® (anacaulase bcdb).
    • Convey information regarding supplies used with Epicel/NexoBrid.
  • Expand product use and awareness through customer engagement.
  • Be an integral part of the Vericel team, working closely with Sales, Marketing and Medical Affairs to identify, report, and advise of customer needs, product performance and potential sales opportunities i.e., case planning & extra grafts.
  • Meets quarterly with RSD to review Performance, target account progress, and competitive landscape.  This performance update to include customer needs, product performance, sales opportunities, and CRM call activity.
  • Maximize time in field; expected to meet and exceed expectations for consistent account presence. Expectation to be in targeted accounts quarterly (balanced with cases).  When not in cases the expectation is to have live presence in 2 accounts weekly.    

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree.   
  • 2+ years of experience with the care of severe burn patients.
  • Experience with hospital operating room environments. 
  • A professional approach that sees patient welfare as the highest priority, with a strong drive to connect our products and services with every patient who will benefit.
  • Expertise and personality to quickly earn trusted advisor status with key accounts and stakeholders, including top burn experts.
  • Strong clinical and scientific acumen, particularly in burns or wound care, with ability to leverage top burn experts and support staff. 
  • Ability to thrive in a cross-functional team.

The total annual compensation for this position, including base salary and target commission, ranges from $120,000 to $160,000.
