Job Description 

As the Manager of Engagement Management at Blackwood, you'll play a critical role in shaping the future of our cybersecurity services solutions. This role plays a crucial role in overseeing the execution and delivery of cybersecurity projects post-sale. This position is designed for an individual with robust project management experience and technical background, who will act as both a leader and a mentor (player-coach) within the division. As coach, the Manager will establish policies and programs to support hyper-scale project management of delivery services. As a player, the Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with client expectations. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Program Development: Lead the development and implementation of the Blackwood Engagement Management team focused on policies and workflows that enable project success.
  • Project Oversight: Lead the planning and implementation of cybersecurity project post-sale. Ensure all projects adhere to defined timelines, budgets, and quality standards and conduct regular project status meetings and provide updates to stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership: Act as a player-coach, mentoring junior engagement managers and technical staff. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and team development.
  • Team Management: Manage a team of Engagement Managers to ensure the highest caliber of delivery and execution. Includes performance reviews, goal setting, and further development of direct reports.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions. Build strong relationships with internal teams, including sales, engineering, and support.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements within the project management framework. Develop and implement best practices for project execution and delivery.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Monitor and report on project risks and issues to senior management.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and lessons learned. Prepare and present project performance reports to senior leadership.

Basic Qualifications 

  • US Citizen                                                               
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
  • PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Experience managing deployment and sustainment projects for enterprise software and XaaS solutions
  • Familiarity with Project Management tools and software (i.e. Kanban, JIRA, MS Projects, Work Breakdown Structure).
  • Willingness to permit a background check prior to Employment
  • Willingness and Ability to learn new COTS Technologies   
  • Excellent Presentation and Written Communication Skills
  • Strong Time Management Skills   
  • Passion to Hustle and Have fun

Additional Qualifications 

  • Familiarity with compliance standards
  • Proficiency in project management tools
  • Familiarity with COTS cybersecurity technologies
  • Familiarity with Project Management in Federal customers. 
  • Domain specific technical exposure (i.e. Security Operations, Identity Management, XaaS Deployments).
