Clinic Assistant Job Description
SUMMARY
As a Clinic Assistant with Hummingbird ABA Therapy, you will support the daily operations of the clinic by planning and leading activities, assisting staff, and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, organize, and support daily clinic-wide activities (group time, structured activities, arts and crafts, games, etc.).
- Assist with lesson planning and preparing activity ideas, gathering materials, and supporting the implementation of structured activities that align with client goals.
- Provide general hands-on support for staff and clients to ensure daily operations run smoothly.
- Provide occasional direct support to clients as needed to support clinic operations.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of therapy rooms and common areas throughout the day.
- Monitor inventory and restock supplies and materials to ensure smooth daily operations.
OTHER DUTIES
- Administrative coverage needs including SOAP notes follow through
- Contact and coordinate with outside maintenance professionals as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the clinic.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This position is clinic-based, with daily interaction with children, staff, and families.
- The work environment is active and fast-paced, requiring flexibility and problem-solving.

TRAVEL
- This position may require occasional local travel, such as picking up supplies or running errands to support clinic operations.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience working with children, preferably in a clinic, educational, or childcare setting.
- Experience planning and implementing meaningful, age-appropriate activities for children to support social, emotional, and developmental growth.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, or related field preferred.
- Experience supporting children with special needs is strongly preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Must have or be able to obtain PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse, and FBI Clearances.
- Must have or be willing to obtain Safety-Care Specialist certification.
- Must have completed or be willing to complete the 40-Hour Registered Behavior Technician training.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel locally as part of the job responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Prior experience or education in child development, education, or a related field strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience working with children, with experience supporting children with special needs preferred.
- Comfortable providing direct support to children with special needs.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Team-oriented and collaborative, with a willingness to step in wherever needed.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all staff and client-related matters.
