About the Role:
The Delivery Driver - Commissary plays a critical role in ensuring the timely and accurate distribution of goods from the commissary to various delivery points within the transportation and warehousing network. This position requires a dependable individual who can manage delivery schedules efficiently while maintaining the safety and integrity of the cargo. The driver will be responsible for navigating assigned routes, adhering to all traffic and safety regulations, and providing excellent customer service during deliveries. This role contributes directly to the operational success of the organization by supporting supply chain continuity and meeting delivery deadlines. Ultimately, the Delivery Driver ensures that products reach their destinations in optimal condition, supporting overall business objectives and customer satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle class being operated.
- Clean driving record with no recent violations or accidents.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds safely.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a delivery driver in a commissary or warehouse environment.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation and route planning software.
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) if applicable to vehicle type.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Customer service experience.
Responsibilities:
- Operate company vehicles to transport goods from the commissary to designated delivery locations safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload delivery items, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules while maintaining communication with dispatch and management.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure vehicle safety and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, obtain necessary signatures, and report any delivery discrepancies or issues.
- Adhere to all company policies, traffic laws, and safety regulations to ensure a secure working environment.
- Provide courteous and professional customer service during all delivery interactions.
