The Job You Will Perform:
Responsibilities:
The Project Manager is a part of a team responsible for working with the Tucker PrePrint and Packaging sales team, internal and external vendors, suppliers, and contractors as well as our customers to ensure that the specifications of each customer order are met. This is an exempt position that reports to the Complex Project Manager Team Lead.
Tucker PrePrint is primarily engaged in the execution of packaging programs and point-of-purchase displays for retailers and consumer packaged goods channels.
Key Functions:
- Develops and maintains relationships that support sales activities through initiating contact with and/or responding to customer inquiries regarding accounts, products, or services. Has direct engagement with customers including decision makers, works under guidance from the commercial and operation managers, and creates solutions or resolves issues using current protocol.
- Estimating functions to include updating internal pricing tool and quoting outsourced materials and freight. Prices and delivers quotations to customers for projects under established standards.
- Independently coordinates production requirements, inbound product, shipping, and inventory management. Leads preproduction meetings and develops time lines for order execution. Distributes information and plans to operational groups and external customers. Ensures appropriate approvals are received to produce orders including validating and managing sales contracts, purchase orders, and agreements; trouble shoots as needed during the order process.
- Executes orders in accordance with workflow processes and systems in place including material planning, inventory management, bill of materials, sales order entry, miscellaneous invoicing, production guidance, spec approval, and record management.
- Facilitates processes that reconcile customer accounts, including investigating and resolving customer complaints. Directly follows up with the customer to review and resolve complaints. Influences process changes and improvements. High level of authority to resolve issues within current processes.
- Researches options for, makes suggestions about, and receives approval to source components.
- Works with the finance groups to reduce accounts receivables and reconcile accounts.
- Works in conjunction with Production and Plant Leadership to schedule production on a daily basis
- Participates in post job-cost analysis meetings and makes suggestions for improvement opportunities.
- May lead or participate in First Article Check/Press Checks to validate that the display is built according to specifications.
- Handles multiple tasks simultaneously, using priority management skills. Works in a team environment. Maintains excellent records.
- Responsible for playing a lead role in a variety of non-routine clerical/accounting functions, in accordance with standard procedures. Duties and tasks reflect substantial variety and complexity. Assignments are broad in nature and usually require originality and ingenuity. Applies advanced skills.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of daily, weekly, and monthly responsibilities and reports.
The Skills You Will Bring:
- Prior experience (four years or more) in manufacturing customer service, project management, or business-to-business inside sales preferred.
- BS/BA in appropriate field preferred.
- Strongly prefer experience with print or corrugated packaging production operations and equipment; knowledge of corrugated clients and the inner workings of a retail marketplace. Knowledge of the properties and design of corrugated materials and flexographic printing and litho labels preferred; understanding various printing methods/applications.
- This position requires a high level of administrative, organizational, and communication skills, including exemplary telephone and e-mail etiquette and ability to present self in a professional manner.
- Accuracy, thoroughness, attention to detail, timeliness/responsive, reliability, patience, listening skills, and interpersonal savvy are crucial. Must possess a disposition that thrives on a deep understanding of the details and ensures their execution. Strong organizational skills are required and an unrelenting sense of urgency to act and respond to challenges.
- Demonstrated competence in accurate data entry; well-developed skills in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, databases, keyboarding, and other applications.
- Ability to present self in a professional manner; take initiative to get the job done; build customer relationships; work under pressure while handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to take direction or work independently; must be able to work overtime or irregular hours as needed to meet client needs.
- Positive attitude, patience, superb listening skills, ability to learn on the fly and reliability required.
- Travel to customer location and/or vendors may be required on an intermittent basis.
