POSITION SUMMARY:
The Kettle Moraine YMCA is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Design Specialist to join our Marketing & Communications team. This role is responsible for developing compelling visual content that supports our mission, enhances brand awareness, and engages our diverse community. From digital campaigns to print materials, your work will help tell the Y’s story and promote programs that strengthen youth, families, and the community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Creates and produces seasonal and annual publications, including brochures, print advertisements, flyers, signage, fundraising collateral, campaign materials, postcards, and donor solicitation pieces.
- Acts as the primary owner of all print materials; develops creative and innovative marketing concepts that connect with the audience and brand.
- Own the creative vision and execution to create notable design and effective communication.
- Ensures projects complete on time and according to specifications in a complex design environment.
- Ensures compliance with all YMCA of the USA graphics standards and established Kettle Moraine YMCA graphic standards.
- Consistently delivers timely, high quality marketing and brand experiences.
- Provides design and editorial support, ensuring information is current for the website.
- Actively and enthusiastically supports the Association goals through effective verbal communication to peers, staff, members, and guests, and by helping at Y fundraising activities and special events.
- Provide leadership within the creative team by reviewing creative work, giving strategic feedback, and ensuring that the team stays cohesive and breaks new ground.
- Partner with the Director of Communications and Marketing Specialist to ensure a cohesive experience across all marketing touchpoints.
- Oversee all stages of project planning, production, and deployment to ensure the highest level of quality.
- Image editing and assisting with photography.
- Participates in various YMCA Special Events to provide Communications and Marketing support to ensure successful events.
- Evaluate trends, assess new data, and keep current with the latest marketing techniques.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Professional training or coursework in graphic design, including any of the following: Bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree, Adobe Creative Suite Certification, or equivalent experience.
- Technical skills required include excellent writing, proofing, and editing abilities; proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage projects and coordinate events in conjunction with other staff members and volunteers to achieve long and short-range goals of the Association.
- Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize projects, and meet strict deadlines.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
CERTIFICATIONS:
1. Bloodborne Pathogens/Child Abuse Prevention every year
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of times.
- May require the ability to lift, carry, and load equipment, furnishings and program supplies up to 25lbs.
- Requires the ability to organize, prioritize and manage tasks without direct supervision.
- Work may be completed in an office setting and includes the frequent use of a computer and other office machinery.
- Work is typically performed in a standard work week, but may require evening, weekend or additional hours to accommodate meetings, activities and workload.
- May require the ability to adjust focus as needed for reading documents and spreadsheets in written format or on computer screen and related equipment.
