The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring that financial statements are accurate, timely, and compliant with regulations, which directly contributes to the organization's overall business goals. By providing insightful financial analysis and reporting, the Senior Accountant helps guide strategic decision-making and supports operational efficiency across departments. This role requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Position Details:
· Prepare and oversee the completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
· Perform account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data.
· Prepare detailed financial reports on an ad hoc basis to meet internal and corporate expectations.
· Manage the general ledger and ensure timely and accurate postings of transactions.
· Maintain and report to Senior Leadership on budget to actual variances.
· Assist with budget preparation and forecasting processes.
· Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
· Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
· Mentor and train junior accounting staff as needed.
· Prepare and post journal entries and assist with the monthly financial close.
· Analyze assigned GL accounts for proper accounting treatment and adherence to internal controls by auditing data.
· Ensure GAAP and SOX compliance and assist with internal and external audits throughout the year
· Assist the finance department in accomplishing corporate and departmental goals by performing special assignments.
· Cross-train on various accounting duties to support the growth of the company.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in accounting-related field preferred.
· Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
· Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
