SUMMARY: 
The Information Technology Field Engineer provides technical assistance to clients and teammates with service concentration on jobsite/field support.  This position helps teammates with the use of computer hardware, networks, cameras, printers, and software platforms.  The Field Information Technology Technician interacts frequently with clients to provide solutions and direction involving IT facilitation on the jobsite.  May assist the IT Field Engineer on field projects.  The Field Information Technology Technician reports to the Field IT Engineer, who outlines job priorities and IT-specific projects.  
 
This is an FLSA salaried-exempt position.  
 
INDUSTRY: IT
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:   
  • Jobsite setup (15%)
    • Coordinates with Field IT Engineer for preparation of upcoming jobsite setups   
    • Order equipment needed.
    • Sets up IT equipment on the jobsite, which includes a workstation, conference station, internet/network, printer, and camera installation.
  • Jobsite support and decommission (40%)
    • Coordinates with the Field IT Engineer for the preparation of upcoming jobsite decommissioning
    • Pulls IT equipment off the jobsite.
    • Notifies IT Manager of any services that are now ready to close (Internet, camera)
  • IT Inventory (25%)
    • Maintains a database to keep track of all computer hardware through id tags, serial numbers, location, and clients.  
    • Organizes and maintains all IT equipment inventory both in office and storage.
  • Helpdesk (10%)
    • Monitors Spiceworks/Comodo and ensures tickets are assigned, addressed, and closed promptly with emphasis on tickets deriving from the field/jobsites.
    • Works with corporate and field users with software and hardware
    • Follows up with clients and teammates on solutions that were recommended/performed.
  • Education/Certification (10%)
    • CompTIA certification path starting with A+  
    • Establishes a path for a college degree with an emphasis in Computer Science/Engineering or Information Technology  
Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 
  • GED with some college or plans to attend college
  • Experience in the field or on construction jobsites

While performing this job, the employee may be regularly required to drive to and from the jobsites/assigned locations, sit, walk, stand, talk, hear, and smell. A major portion of the employees’ tasks require extensive walking around the jobsite, including active construction areas. The employee is required to traverse uneven terrain and work from ladders, scaffolds, and other structures, as well as work at variable heights. The employee is frequently required to use hands to handle tools, controls, and for fine motor coordination like computer work. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. The employee must also occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 
 
For Field positions, while performing this job, the employee must frequently inspect the project site and may be exposed to ongoing construction activities, vibrations, noise, and various outside weather conditions (in all seasons). Work environment involves moderate risks which may require safety precautions. The noise level in the work environment may range from quiet to loud.  The proper use of Personnel Protective Equipment (including but not limited to safety boots, hardhat, and protective eyewear) is required on the jobsite.
