Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our finance team, with a focus on Accounts Receivable, customer collections, and payroll processing. This role manages the full-cycle AR process, including accurate billing, payment application, and proactive collection efforts. It also oversees bi-weekly payroll processing and related reporting, while supporting month-end close and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of AR and payroll practices, uphold internal controls, and help ensure the accuracy and compliance of our financial operations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute monthly invoicing across multiple currencies, including both activity-based and recurring billing cycles
- Post daily financial transactions to customer accounts, including deposits, credit memos, voids, and adjustments
- Monitor and analyze the Accounts Receivable aging report weekly
- Drive collection efforts by actively following up with customers, clearing up payment delays, and helping reduce overdue balances
- Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and book payroll-related adjustments as needed
- Handle payroll-related uploads and reporting for employee benefits and retirement contributions
- Review year-end payroll documents, including W-2s, to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Maintain confidentiality of payroll data and ensure adherence to internal controls
- Prepare and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts monthly, including assemblies in process, leased assets, operating leases, accrued expenses, various payable accounts, and short-term and long-term liabilities
- Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded in compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal company policies
- Assist with annual audit and quarterly financial review processes by providing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries
- Safeguard the confidentiality of all financial data and transactions
- Promptly escalate any irregularities or suspected fraudulent activity to management
- Uphold adherence to all company policies, procedures, and internal control standards
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams via phone, email, direct mail, and video conferencing
- Perform additional accounting and finance-related duties as assigned to support departmental goals
Required Knowledge/Skills/Job Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite; NetSuite experience is a plus
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Strong project and time management abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Integrity, discretion, and the ability to handle confidential information
- Eligible for a Nevada gaming license
Education/Experience:
- 1 - 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in accounts receivable and payroll
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred
- Experience in a publicly traded company is advantageous
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods
- Occasional movement within the office to access equipment
- Frequent use of hands for typing and operating standard office tools
- Capable of clearly articulating thoughts and viewing detailed information
