VOLUNTEER POSITION(S)
Sociology DSC Members (positions below).
The Sociology DSC works to enhance the academic and social experience for students in the department. The council organizes events, fosters student engagement, and represents the interests of Sociology students. Each member contributes to the execution of events, outreach efforts, and the creation of a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Applications will remain open until September 18th at 4PM, 2025.
Expected Time Commitment and Remuneration

Roles and Responsibilities
Marketing Team (2 members)
- Manage the DSC’s social media account, creating and posting graphics and event posters.
- Attend weekly meetings, check-ins, and DSC events to support marketing efforts.
Events Team (2 members)
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate DSC events, handling all logistical details.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team for event promotion and attend meetings, check-ins, and events.
Academics Team (3 members)
- Coordinate academic partnerships with the mentorship program and organize academic events.
- Engage with professors and students while attending meetings, check-ins, and DSC events.
Outreach Team (2 members)
- Design monthly newsletters and organize partnerships with other clubs and DSCs.
- Promote DSC events through outreach initiatives and attend meetings, check-ins, and events.
Year Reps (4 members; 1st year, 2nd year, 3rd year, 4th year)
- Advocate for students, act as their point of communication, and assist with DSC roles.
- Participate in one Instagram takeover and attend meetings, check-ins, and events.
First-Year Interns (2 members)
- Support DSC team members as needed and attend weekly meetings, check-ins, and events.
- Gain experience by assisting with various DSC roles and tasks.
Journal Team (2 members)
- Facilitate the production and publication of the Phenomena journal.
- Attend meetings, check-ins, and DSC events, contributing to journal-related activities.
Communication Team/EDII (1 member)
- Oversee DSC communication and ensure inclusion, equity, and diversity in all activities.
- Ensure event accessibility and maintain messaging across multiple platforms.
Finance Team (1 member)
- Manage the council’s budget and handle reimbursements.
- Attend meetings, check-ins, and DSC events to ensure financial matters are well-coordinated.
Fundraising Team (1 member)
- Organize merchandise sales and other fundraising initiatives.
- Attend meetings, check-ins, and DSC events to support fundraising efforts.
Mentorship Team (1 member)
- Organize the mentorship program and help facilitate related events.
- Attend weekly meetings, check-ins, and DSC events to support mentorship activities.
Senior Advisor (1 member)
- Step in for co-presidents when needed and help organize roles and duties within the DSC.
- Attend meetings, check-ins, and DSC events, providing guidance and support to the council.
